India-based Airlines - AI537 MAA-VTZ - Seatmap? (Airbus A320-100/200)

Has anyone flown this sector?

Also wondering if this is an all-Y flight, or do they have a biz class which is not shown? (not offered on AI.com)

Does AI run flights with an all-economy config?

I'm debating whether to do an Indigo (real early, but ontime usually - would be a first) or an AI flight that could be late....

AI does have a few aircraft in all-Y config, although I'm not sure whether they operate this flight.. The way to figure it out is to look at the seatmap and see if Y cabins starts from row 1.

This flight has a good on time record, as it is the second flight of the day.

I called MAA airport and they said that they are running a J cabin, but it's not being sold online, so come to the airport and buy it.

However, I may just use the buy-up and fly that instead of shelling out the full J fare, as I'm carrying a huge suitcase this time, which 9w didn't appreciate this time inbound either...

Time for Jet to walk the walk, and abandon their "full service" image systemwide, or bring back the J cabins and throw out Konnect!

Why wouldn't they sell J online

Trying to reduce loads? Send passengers to competitors?

Most Konnect flights have J cabins.. 9W operates MAA-VTZ on an ATR-72 and hence does not offer J.

Edit: Massive LOL at not selling J online.. Classic AI.

Could be because at the moment it is planned on an all economy flight but last minute equipment change may have j cabin. 3 319's are all economy and they have started changing the old 320's to all economy. 3 of them have already become all economy and rest are being reconfigured. 168 seats. And we are having a lot of last minute equipment changes lately from 319 to 320 and vice versa.

Just checked the website for the next whole week. J is available for 14299 on all days except Saturday when I believe flight is not operating.

Please post ur review about this sector on AI. I travel a lot in this sector, but never tried AI in this sector so I will be very useful for me. The screwed up part with AI on this sector is that, it operates MAA-VTZ direct but VTZ -MAA via Bhubaneswar.

AI ended up being massively late, so I luckily woke up and got to book the Indigo flight in time, then canceled the AI flight.

However, the sandwiches (I chose a veg subz on multigrain) they have on board would give someone a heart attack with the amount of mayonnaise they put in them! I handed it back to the FA, saying I value my health more than any hunger for food...

Also their coffee includes sugar, which really sucks.

Coffee is very sensitive to a sweetener. Tea is more forgiving.
Different coffees require different amount of sugar. Those who like it black can't stand sugar. I don;t understand why anyone would add sugar to their coffee when they should know that not everyone likes to have sugar in their coffee or tea.
About mayonnaise, one sandwich with too much mayonnaise, some of which can also be scraped of with a knife or spoon, is harmless though.
It's not necessary to dump it on the FA. She did not make the sandwich.

Most Indians like their coffee with plenty of sugar. And it is cheaper to buy sugar in bulk and add it to the coffee by default than it is to make the coffee black and order a bunch of mini sugar packets to give [almost every] passenger. The cost savings from this probably outweigh the negative feedback from the few passengers (cough cough NRIs) who like their coffee black.

i like my coffee black, with very little or no sugar....i agree its cheaper to buy the sugar in bulk but its always good to offer people a choice....

Same here. Black, no sugar. And extra strong.

Since nearly all airlines serve up weak dishwater, I either buy at the airport or carry the little Nescafe sachets to make the coffee as strong as I like it.

One thing I will personally never complain about is the absence of hot food. I don't like hot food, full stop. It's got to be at room temperature or colder for me (only exceptions being things like pizza, which I like no more than a couple of degrees warmer). Of course, that's when I eat on the plane. With the number of food restrictions I have, it's either bring my own or risk getting sick (I've done both!).
