I know they give a breakfast, just don't know what.
Came up empty with search and was curious.
Considering booking for the end of the month.
Thanks.

I found this bit (by JDiver) over in the property's master thread:
One interesting item is breakfast: the in-room menu states Conti brekkies is $13.50 , "build your own omelette" $13.95 and "all-American" $14.95. The Gold / Diamond breakfast chit says ""complimentary Continental Breakfast Buffet" and "For an additional $10 per adult or $5.00 per child (12 and under) you can upgrade to the Hot Breakfast Buffet. ! The menu difference is $1.45, the chit difference is $10.00. (And, that's exactly how it works; we were charged $10 p/p for "upgrading" to eggs to order for brunch.)
The buffet itself includes some variety of tinned fruits, some not-tasty looking pineapple, two kinds of melons, cereals, breads, two kinds of scrambled eggs, etc. etc. (pretty typical buffet.) A block down Jones in the Holiday Inn is Denny's, for those who want a hot breakfast at a better price.

The last post in that thread is around 3 years old, so perhaps things have changed since then.

Why would you even want to book FW instead of US or FD ?
The FW property is constantly price more than either US or FD, it is far from any public transportation, far from shopping (other than Fisherman's Wharf), the property rated below both US and FD.
Not to mention, as a gold at FD, now you get 24 hours lounge access with both evening reception and cont.breakfast daily.

Stayed at FW in January, would never stay there again. Awful service, surly staff, lousy food (in fairness didn't eat breakfast there).

I saw that too. Should have said a search revealed nothing remotely current. My family was going to HHV every year for a while. They really bounced around with what was given.

I LOVE your post. That is exactly the way I would talk to a friend if they asked me about this hotel and I was knowledgable. The reason I wanted to stay in the Fishermans Wharf area is my extended family will flex between 12 and 16 people for this trip, with half under 12 and several infants needing naps. Many in the party haven't been to SF, and I thought this would offer a place near FW and I'd be able to get breakfast. Will probably stay at the Sheraton FW, which although is also considered to not treat Plats nice, won't affect me, as I'm a Gold that needs a few more stays to Plat. I didn't realize about being far from public transportation either.

Seals the deal. No Hilton FW for me.
