Recently ANA has panned the shade-less 787 windows, because they don't get dark enough to block light.

How about the reverse? Do these windows get clear enough to allow high-quality photography that doesn't carry an obvious tint?

Its hard but still possible, depending on how much dirt there is on the windows - its important to cover the whole window to prevent reflections. One thing you might want to look into is a thing called "lens skirt" which also is perfect for shoots thrue hotel windows where you can't open them.

A lens skirt isn't nearly big enough to really cover the window and the large gap between the panes makes for a lot of internal reflections.

They are clear enough, assuming they are clean, but the reflections thing, like most plane windows, is an issue IME.
