Hi all,

I'm thinking of flying to Siem Reap next year. LX are coming in cheapest in C to BKK (ex DUB) so I think I'll buy a return ticket and then buy a separate ticket with Bangkok Airways to Siem Reap.

Will LX check my bags all the way through in DUB to Siem Reap? Or will I have to collect bags and clear immigration at BKK and re-check in with Bangkok Airways?

You always have to get luggage and clear immigration in BKK, no matter what airline you're flying.

Even if I'm not staying in Thailand? :td:

Thanks for the info. I will ensure my connecting flight to Siem Reap is that evening to give me plenty of time to clear immigration.

100% wrong. No need to reclaim luggage when interlining internationally or when flying to an domestic airport that has customs facilities, eg HKT.

LX and Bangkok Airways do have an interline agreement and your bags can be checked through to Siem Reap.

Interlining from/to Bangkok Airways usually works well, as they are set up to connect a lot of vacation traffic arriving in/departing from BK on other airlines.

Sorry, thought Siem Reap is in Thailand. Time to look at a world map again...

Cheers guys - this makes me very happy!

I assume the two separate tickets won't be a big deal then (like it can be with many other airlines!).

LX tickets booked yesterday - I never fly in J with any airline (only once before) so I'm really looking forward to this trip.:D

just a slight word of warning..LX do NOT give out a fast pass pass for Dublin Security when traveling in business etc (they won't pay for it any more) so just allow a bit of extra time to go through the regular security channels. Its kinda funny how LH give one and LX don't anymore..

Hope you have already realised that there will be a crazy long layover in Zurich on the outbound flight (8hr15)?
