Finnair Plus - Seat Selction/Meal Selection Gone?

Haven t flown AY for about 4 months, so I m wondering if they cut down the services on their website the same way then they cut eerything else which cost a few cent.
I don t see the option for the meals ex HEl nor can I change my seats. Is there any trick, or is it just the new way to fly?

Hmm, I see all the choices for my future reservations OK.

Actually, I locked in from a different computer and can see all the choices:confused: But still the meal option is not working.

Don't worry. Neither do those who have designed, implemented, and tested the current Finnair website.

I get the same error, and I just noticed it's the same problem I get on a BA booking. It's interesting though, as I can choose the seats for the AY operated flights on that booking, but the BA flights I cannot select the seats.
I'm just confused. :td:

This is getting very weird indeed...tried to change another booking and I can change the outbound OK but for the inbound I get the "general error" message... We all know that AY IT is crap but this is getting just ridiculous..

Also getting the "General error" page when trying to select seats on my BA marketed, AY operated HEL-LHR flight. When I called Finnair, they explained that the seat was part of BA's "quota" and that they couldn't do anything about seat selection. Called BA and they did try to select seats, but in the end they said that the flight was somehow "locked" and they could not assign seats. Their advice was to call in later and see if the seats could be assigned then.
Rather frustrating as I would like a certain exit row seat... This whole oneworld code sharing deal isn't really working too well, at least between AY/BA.
Any advice is welcome.

I'm on a DONE4 (BA ticketed). I tried selecting seats on an AY flight in BA MMB and also of course Finnairs site. Neither worked for whatever reason. But eventually I was able to select seats for AY flights from Qantas website :)

Simly go to qantas.com, select Manage Your Booking and use your AY/BA record locator (PNR) and try to select seats there. All the three airlines (AY, BA and QF) use Amadeus, so the record locators are mostly interchangeable.

You do NOT need one to retrieve the booking on qantas.com. Sometimes the RJ website can also be useful for managing oneworld Amadeus bookings.
In QF MMB, retrieval appears to work. Changing seats, be it AY/AY, AY/BE, or AY/BA flight, does not.
Tried that with three very different itineraries in the near future. All other seats appear taken, choosing the already assigned own seat, pay AUD 7,50 :eek:, "Your flight is not eligible for advance seat selection however you can nominate aisle or window seat preference.", etc.
And the final result tends to be "The system is temporarily unable to process your request. Please try again. (9102)".

They charge Platinum members when flying J?
But still it is not possible to change seats, you only getting a general error message.
They are really going low cost.

There is no charge for anybody in J. All revenue fare classes in business allows for free seat selection regardless of status. (Awards in J may or may not be blocked from bulkhead regardless of status) Table is here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18834582-post68.html).

But there is no way to make a seat selection, after the booking process, since you only getting a general error message.

Ah yes. I just wanted to complete the picture on the fees.
Best course of action for you is to call the platinum hotline and make seat allocation that way. (I know it is annoying to call when we should be able to do it online).

Calling is not the problem, the problem is that you don t see the full picture and all the options.
