Just looking at purple for a meet and greet for next week, and notice that they now split out an 'airport access fee' of £2.80 for each end (see the teeny print here under the prices (https://www.purpleparking.com/Book/quote?fuse_viewstate=null&fuse_action=&fuse_guid=6EB36F6C-29EF-0458-4933-C311CD0A36DF&fuse_actiondata=&departure=12%2F07%2F2012&return=19%2F07%2F2012&source=E166W&airport=LHR&departureDate=Thur+12+Jul+2012&returnDate=Thur+19+Jul+2012))
Is this a new charge, or have purple just adopted the airline pricing model, and we'll soon be seeing costs of £0.99 for a month's valet parking (excluding associated fees, charges, surcharges, sursurcharges and contribution to the drivers' tea fund of £878)
Booked Edward Lloyd Meet & Greet last week, and haven't seen anything along these lines... Not to say that BAA aren't implementing it...

I guess this is just the standard short-stay car park charge.
Wouldn't be surprised if like airlines they are itemising everything that they previously had under the total price - and like airlines sneaking in a price rise

hmm - so looks like just another excuse for a price increase.
stut, can you recommend Edward Lloyd? The price is right...
I can recommend them in that I've used them once before, they were where they were meant to be when they said they would be, and there were no new dents on MrsStut's car. Which is what you want, really, but I can't claim a wealth of experience with them.

stut - good enough recco for me, I'll add my opinion next week.
should I be worried that their directions page shows London airport in Ontario, Canada (http://www.edwardlloydparking.co.uk/directions.php)? :D
Hahahahaha! Oh dear, Google Maps embed params fail...

Well, conditional thumbs-up for Edward Lloyd from me... Rather less professional than purple in that I didnt need to show any matching paperwork to get my car back, but instead just said 'that's mine', so if you have a smart/expensive/cherished motor then that may be a concern for you
Against that, they were £40 for a two day trip vs £60-odd for purple, and they were significantly quicker in getting the car to t5 than purple have ever managed....I called walking up the jetway in t5a, walked through iris with a queue of one person, no luggage and they arrived at the meet and greet are about ten seconds after I did
I'll use them again, certainly

Hahahahaha! Oh dear, Google Maps embed params fail...
embed params? You mean print-screen, graphic design AND web design fail:

Thanks for the follow-up! Glad they're still doing a decent job. And no, smart and expensive are not things I go for with cars...
Yes, the website is appalling. It's amazing companies still get away charging for designs like that when there's so many decent CMSs out there that do half the work for you...
