Didn't know where to ask this question. I thought this would be more appropriate since the users in this forum topic have experience with Asiana.

I'm planning to fly from ICN to NRT or HND on September 15th. The arrival time for NRT is 9pm, while HND is 11 pm. How accurate is the time? (i.e do they usually arrive earlier? later?). I want to catch public transportation (train)...and not spend extra on a taxi.

The last train from HND (the monorail) leaves at 12:07 pm, while I believe NRT is 10:30ish. I think both of the times are cutting it close. I don't plan to check in any baggage, either. Do I have enough time to clear customs? lol

I'm originally flying from SFO and plan to fly to ICN a week later after my stay in Japan. United and Delta gets there earlier..but i rather avoid them for an international flight (due to the horrible reviews out there)

Perhaps you might try checking flightaware.com for historical data of previous flights. But also keep in mind that any weather issues that show up and all bets are off. I will say that the folks at HND are pretty efficient in getting you through immigration and such. Having said that, I would take the 1.5 hr window at NRT instead.

Do you know where in Tokyo you will be staying in?

Either way, when going in the opposite direction, Haneda is indeed the better option.

Are you transferring at ICN? If not, I would suggest fly GMP-HND instead of ICN-HND. GMP(domestic/shuttle flight airport for Seoul) is closer and cheaper(<$2 by metro from most part of Seoul) than ICN.

Guess there is OZ GMP-HND arriving ~10pm.

Thanks for the replies.

Edta: Yeah, I'm transferring from ICN. And since I'm flying from SF (due to time of the flight?), there's no option/selection for GMP.

Fire: I'm planning to stay in Minato (using airbnb with another friend (who's flying in from another country))..so Haneda is better in terms of distance. But I don't think I could clear customs in a hr and catch a train in time; and a taxi would be 90-100 dollars.

I was planning to fly in NRT or HND on a Saturday (in September) the air fare price it the same, but I think I may just fly in a day earlier to NRT, which is a 100 dollar cheaper (HND is 800 dollars more..). If i go with this plan..i'll stay at one of the hotels near the airport. Any one have any experience with those hotels? told by one of my friends that they don't clean the sheets? (sometimes)

Thanks for the replies.

. But I don't think I could clear customs in a hr and catch a train in time;.

I'm a bit confused. I've flown several times into NRT touching down at about 20:45 and been on the 21:30 limo bus with no rush. And at HND it's been just as quick- although I only timed myself there once.
