does anybody know where I can see the seat map of my flight, if I just have a thai booking code and no amadeus code? (thai website doesnt show seat map, just assigned seat nr..., fake booking for my flight doesnt work on thai website because you can not select seats from map during booking process...LH fake booking shows seat map, but doesnt offer my thai flight because LH leaves BKK at the same time)

A dummy booking does allow you to look at the seat map. At the "Specify your travellers" screen tick the "additional options" box then select "purchase" this will then take you to the seat map for the flight(s).

THAI has a section on their website with seat maps. It is found by selecting THAI Company Information>Our Aircraft, then selecting the plane you're interested in.
That brings up an internal .jpg seat map. These seatmaps yield additional information not seen on seatmaps from Seatguru, etc. Most notably, seat pitch is many times not consistent throughout the cabins. These maps reveal what seats have different pitch. (Ex: on 773, first Y cabin has 34" pitch; the other Y cabins have 32" pitch.)
Unfortunately, you used to be able to zoom these maps up so they were legible. Something seems to have changed on the THAI website, and they now come up in fixed windows and can not be expanded.
It seems to behave a little differently for different planes, and I've tried right-clicking, opening in a viewer, etc. but nothing seems to work for expanding them up to a reasonable level.
Anybody else have any ideas?
The seatmaps are now relatively low resolution JPEGs, and sadly you can't create high-res from low-res! I've got some old PDFs saved on my computer so PM me if you would like me to email them to you.
However, you may find this (http://www.thaiair.co.jp/serviceguide/seat/index.html) to be more fun. It's the aircraft guide on TG's Japan website. I am certainly looking forward to the 77B!
Addition on 14 July 2012:
See here (http://www.thaiairways.com/thai-services/in-the-air/en/Royal%20Silk%20class/royal-silk-class-services.htm) for the seat maps you're seeking!

wow. Thanks for the links. I didn't realise but they certainly lose a lot of seating by going to the staggered layout - down from 34J to 24J in the front cabin on the 77B (that does look exciting though!)
haven't other airlines managed to maintain the same number of J seats in the same amount of space by going herringbone or nose-to-tail (like BA/UA)?
Wonder when they're gonna start the 77b's?
