Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - F on 773 vs. F on 77W

Here´s a question for the SQ experts:

What´s the difference between F on the 773 and F on the 77W?

I assume the hard product on the 77W is somewhat better, but apart from that is there anything I should be aware of?

It depends on what version of the 773 you're on.
773 vers. 1 (http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Singapore_Air/Singapore_Air_Boeing_777-300.php) has 18 F class recliner seats, 64" x 21".
773 vers. 2 (http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Singapore_Air/Singapore_Air_Boeing_777-300_B.php) has 8 F class seats and the same seats as 77W.

I´d assume SQ usually uses the retrofitted 773 aircrafts on the SIN-SYD runand equipment changes are rare?

They do send retrofitted to SYD. There is only one 773 in the old config and i think that just runs to CGK.

Can confirm that. I flew F on the 773 SIN-SYD yesterday, was new F. Only difference I could see from 77W is that the IFE is the old type - AVOD with 80 instead of 140 movies, resolution may be lower.

I think all retrofitted 773s have the older AVOD - 80 channels and the 77Ws have the newer larger resolution Wiseman AVOD.

SFO-ICN is operated on a 77W, so you will have the new config with 8 F class seats and 42 C class seats.

It wouldn't be a direct flight you would have to stop off at SIN so it would be SIN-ICN on an A330 and SFO-SIN on the 777. There is no direct flight between SFO-ICN with SQ.

Only other differences that I noticed are that on the 773 there are overhead bins unlike the 77W, and that in front of row 1 there is a gap / walkway between the seats and the bulkhead. Otherwise I found the seats identical.

Only 1 non-retrofit left? I thought there were more than that. I know SQ is still running it twice weekly to BWN.

On a separate note, I noticed that the retrofit has the overhead bins still.

Yep just one the other 4 have left the fleet and are now with Transaero.

Where do you store your carry on baggage if there is no over head storage on the 77W?

There's enough room on the floor for carry-on, or if it's a big bag they will store it for you.
