Meaning that no booze will be served at the Premium terminal from beginning to end of the ramadan.

Hmm your thread title does not seem very appropriate.

I confess that I am uncomfortable with the title. I have a number of friends who observe Ramadan, and are very sincere in doing so. I'll drop the word "silly" from the title.

I think a 'QR during Ramadan 101' would useful here, as it relates to QR

What are the differences in QR service?

Erm yes.
Was going to book a QR flight that has a long transit. Since no alcohol in Premium terminal then I'm going to avoid talking QR.

I flew last year during Ramadan. They did not have alcohol on the trolleys, but it was available if you asked for it.

[Removed quote of now-deleted off-topic post]

I think that it is very inconsiderate from Qatar Airways not to serve adult beverages at their premium terminal during the Ramadan. If you are running a non-religious business, this is not the way to go.

My guess is that they don't have them out in public but if you ask for them they'll "find them"

I'm not sure about this, but would be curious. I also won't be taking a chance and will switch my premium travel to EK during this period (though I mostly do anyway).

Of course I can live without alcohol, but this is a non-trivial amenity that is part of the premium experience. Why should I pay a normal business class fare and have this stripped from the package?

During Ramadan, they do serve alcohol on board, except for GCC flights. I am not sure about other short flights to Arab and/or Muslim countries like Jordan, Turkey, Sudan. . . hopefully someone else can comment.

Sorry, but they won't. The 'no alcohol in the PT during Ramadan' rule is strictly enforced.

As Mecabq has said there's also no alcohol served on board intra-Gulf flights or flights to 'stricter' Muslim countries during Ramadan (don't know what qualifies as 'stricter' before you ask!). On long haul flights alcohol will be poured into the glass out of view & brought to your seat rather than being poured in front of you (in C class at least), even on the tarmac before take-off in a foreign, non-muslim country.

If I remember correctly this topic has been raised during Ramadan for the last couple of years, it might be worth trying a search for more details if you'd like further info.

The thread has been retitled for member convenience, and some posts have been deleted.

Please - this is the Qatar Airways Privilege Club, abut flying, earning and burning miles, services and airline-related issues on Qatar Airways, not the place to debate religious beliefs; the only forum in which it is appropriate to do that is OMNI/PR (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/omni-pr-652/). And it is never appropriate on FT to disrespect other members' religious beliefs or lack thereof.

Thank you for your understanding.

Since the topic is raising a few sentiments, I sadly have to close it.
