The new Hilton Honors website is a disaster. When I want to login and make a reservation I really don't care about seeing a travelogue of hotels in French Polynesia, China, UAE, Italy, etc. Get rid of the pictures that take up 80% of the screen and make it easy to make a reservation. Trying to read the screen is very difficult with all their advertising clutter. Marriott, Westin, Intercontinental, Four Seasons all have superior websites. Fix it.

What annoys me most is the fact that Hilton's UK site is no longer accessible except on a few occasions when it suddenly pops up. The new site does not recognise many UK place names and offers to book a room in Manchester CT, Manchester TN or Manchester-Boston Regional Airport NH, rather than in "Manchester, Manchester, United Kingdom" as the site calls "Manchester England". :td:

Totally agree .. the UK site was much more usable and now you seem to get the odd page from time to time.
Similar to Barclay's Bank latest site revamp .. if it isn't broke don't try to improve it!! the old site was far superior.

What gives with the HHonors website today? I am trying to book an award stay and the page showing the list of hotels will never stop re-loading itself, just keeps flashing and re-loading over and over every 2 seconds. When I click on the HHonors logo to get back to the home page, I get "Page not Found."
I am on Firefox, if that makes a difference.
Edited to add: Just tried again on MS Explorer and that doesn't work either. The list does stop flashing there, but I am searching for an award stay, but it's giving me prices in dollars, not points. I can't get it to seach for a points stay. Clicking on Map view gets me a blank page with more "Page Not Found" gobbledygook.
I haven't had problems with HHonors before but the new website seems to be, shall we say, untested. What a piece of junk!

Huh? The location and date fields needed to book a reservation are front and center, in the same place, every time. Are you easily distracted by pretty pictures?
The new brand-specific Web sites are much improved. If anything, reservations management remains a bit clunky once you've logged in.

I like the new website. As MS02113 has mentioned, the layout of the info on the hotel specific pages is much clearer.
I've had logout issues with the site which isn't ideal, but I can live with it.
I have cancelled about 3 or 4 stays since the new website went live (and incidentally the account pages don't appear to have changed) and I've never had an issue with selecting the stay I want to cancel and then cancelling it ...

This has happened to me twice. The other time I was booking and changing right then and there, so the rates I wanted were still available. This time, however, it wasn't. Took over 40 minutes... had to be on the phone with both Hilton CS and the actual Double Tree. They rebooked, said they will honor the rate, but it still shows up way higher on my reservation page. We will see.
I literally clicked on the cancel button that was on the Hilton NY site, and it instantly changed to the DT page with a cancellation confirmation. Boo.

Don't even try from a mobile phone. All this new picture stuff overwhelms bandwidth. Does Hilton realize that most phones have limited data, and most are still 3G?
But it that were the worst of it...
1) Multiple reservations? Forgetaboutit! As soon as you make one, you have the option of seeing the hotel web page or logging off. "This is for your security".
2) How many times do you need to login to log on? Don't know, the number keeps going up.
3) What is the timeout time? Don't know, it's always different. "This is for your protection".
Hilton. Get rid of the graphics, get rid of the burdensome "security" with multiple logins. Get rid of the 2 hour delay. Get all your properties on ONE site. Tell your agents to log complaints instead of agreeing with the customer that the Hilton site sucks. Invest in a computer site (with networked systems that do distributed processing and load balancing).
Hilton, I've been loyal and almost exclusive since 1989. I usually have Diamond status in April for the next year. Bad years it is not until June. Why won't you listen to me and the many others that are complaining? Why are you so damn arrogant that you know what customers need, just like in the 1960's?

The site is the worst by far that I frequent. HH has me beat down, as I am numb to it now.

Okay - so this is kooky. The ex and I had a joint HH account - which I inherited in the split. Had to have notarized letters and the like to get his name removed. I recently logged onto the (now in my name only) account and made a reservation using points for Paris ADT.
It has not shown up in My Reservations, even though points were deducted. I finally searched by reservation number and last name - nothing. Reservation and final four of CC - it shows up under the exes name.
I have made at least fifteen reservations - points and paid - since receiving sole custody of the account with no issues. Calling the Diamond Desk to find out what happened - but can't figure out how they managed this one. (Unless a prior stay in his name under this account triggered something?)
Weird!

I've got two specific questions that maybe I'm just not tech savvy enough to figure out:
1) When I'm looking at a city with multiple brands (say, NY), and I look at a Doubletree - how do I get back to the main list of hotels page? Seems I'm now stuck on a Doubletree site and either have to page back manually (sometimes many pages) or go out and sign back in again. I can't see any shortcut to get back to the main NY page.
2) Is there a way to get rid of Roomkey popping up all the time?

Eujeanie - This is part of the problem we are talking about. Like after making one reservation, you often have to go through the whole thing again, as you have landed on the website for your specific hotel, with no return path.
For those that say "nothing wrong with the site, I can log in now", you need to find employment at Hilton. You have missed the content of this thread entirely...

I personally like the new look and feel of the Hilton, HGI, etc. websites, and I've had success with checking the "Use HHonors Points" box after I get the list of rooms/rates and having the list dynamically updated. I guess I'm in the minority here.
However, like everyone I'm very frustrated by the constant error / system down messages. I am booking several reservations, both paid and points, for an upcoming trip and I have encountered these messages several times in the last week. Maybe if a site goes down once a year, or has a monthly scheduled maintenance, I might understand, but these messages come and go. I find that if I just keep trying in a few seconds, the error messages go away and then the booking goes through.
I also find it funny that the auto-fill search box for city only recognizes "Cracow, Poland" not "Krakow, Poland." And then when you accept "Cracow, Poland," it brings you to a page that tells you there's more than one city "Cracow, Poland" and "Krakow, Poland," asking you to select which one you mean. And finally when you get to the only HHonors property in Krakow, the name of the hotel is "Hilton Garden Inn Krakow"! Like what the earlier poster mentioned about Manchester UK, I'm curious to know what kind of directory the website pulls from, for these cities!

I'm not a techie, so I really don't know the answer to this question or even if it's a reasonable question...
Do companies "throw away" their old website when they get a new one? In other words, why don't they (and not just Hilton, many new websites have terrible growing pains) bring back the old one temporarily until they get the bugs worked out of the new?

Forward and back wards compatibility can be a pain with a lot of applications. In addition to the User Interface (UI) there is the back-end processing and most likely a database that all need to be synchronized. It sounds easy to just roll-back to the previous version, but it may have taken weeks to get ready for the upgrade and flip the switch, but there is a lot more to it than that. One also hopes they have spent some time doing acceptance testing and getting user feedback before going live.

Another loss of functionality on the new web ...
I can't change my airline FF program. I usually stick with one airline program as primary, but do have a couple of secondary programs and some "parked" ones. Once a year or so, I credit an HHonors stay to one of the 2nd tier airline programs just to keep my miles active. The final reservation used to be pre-populated with whatever the last reservation had but you could always change it. Now, there's a "change guest details" link, but airline program isn't one of the things you can update :(
Add me to the list of folks you keep getting "profiles not available". At 1st I thot it was because I tend to book on Sunday evening. Evening in Arizona is late night out east, so assumed I was hitting their "planned downtime" each week. But it's really gotten bad lately. 3 different bookings now, I haven't been able to make it to the end of the process. And I'm talking "normal" hours and over the course of 2 weeks. Outages I can accept, constantly up and down with no repair in sight I can't.
The constant log-in requirement is years old and ridiculous.
The worst is when I'm directed to a sign-in page ... and completing that takes you to another sign-in page

RogerD408, you are correct with the compatibility. If a user is updating their system software they are probably upgrading the servers as well. Most legacy systems are running on Window server 2000 or Windows server 2003, these are 32 bit operating systems. If they are upgrading software and hardware they will be going to Windows server 2008 which is a 64 bit operating system. If this is the case they will be migrating the Database to a 64 bit OS from the 32 bit OS. This is not easy to roll back once you have done it.

It's more than just annoying; it actually affects functionality. For example, if I click on a link in an email from Hhonors that is supposed to bring me to a page on the website, it will bring me instead to the login page. Then, when I sign in, I go to the main home page. That's fine, I get that with other sites, and if I then go back to the email and click on the link again, I go to the right page because I'm now signed in. Nope, not with Hhonors. I'm repeatedly taken back to the login page, rendering me unable to follow a link in an Hhonors email.
There is no doubt in my mind that Hhonors could fix this issue, but they apparently feel that it's for our own good, and that its worth annoying us every single time we use their website until we finally go numb to it.

It has been like that ever since I had became a member 5 years ago I even wrote complains after complains to HHonor website, but nothing is done. Even when you checked remember you, it doesn't. On a good day, you only need to login twice to get to your hhonor account. Most of the time you have to do it 3 times.. or more!

After sometimes logging in five, six or more times in an extended session of searches and varying options when making reservations, I sometimes question why I remain a loyal Hilton Honors member.

It appears HH does not run a centralized data center and requires new passwords every time you move from one brand to another. Not to mention if you stay idle for to long on any of the servers. They have the timed credentials working, now to cross brands...

I'm not sure how much better it is talking to their customer service people. They either claim that the website is horrible, or they claim that it is the first time that they have heard these complaints. I'm so amused reading the comments here. These are just such eminently easy to solve problems. Get rid of the JavaScript, the QuickTime, the blah, blah, blah. Use strait forward, functional, quick HTML code, use a common index (so web links don't always break), and make the site simple, functional, and quick.
But this won't happen. We are into our sixth page of complaints, from the folks that use the system the MOST, and HHILTON has not deemed it necessary to respond.
You know, with Hyatt Express, I'm wondering if that is an option. I just stayed at a Hampton Inn in Hattiesburg, MS, and clearly the requirements from Hilton corporate have changed. OMG.

If it's even possible, it has gotten WORSE for me! I used to be able to struggle through, even if it took a few tries.
Now, on the first screen, where I try to pick my location, it does not let me. And it does not let me change the dates. So I just click the "find now" button and on the next screen it says "we do not recognize that location"...well DUH, but it at least lets me pick a location.
But it does not let me change the date off of today!
But wait...they now have a whole new set of fancy pictures of fancy people enjoying their time at a Hilton...how in the world did THEY make their reservations??

Four days ago I wanted to book a long weekend at the Syon Park, London, Waldorf Astoria. The Hilton web sight showed it was booked on the Sunday night. So I called the hotel and asked what the chances of a cancellation were and they looked and said they had plenty of availability.
I said that Hilton site says full, so the lady told me use the hotels own website of www.syonparklondon.com
I did this and then selected reservations which sent me to the normal Hilton page, but this time with availability, so I booked.
I then did an experiment with two computers at the same time, one entering the reservation through Hilton.com and the other through the hotels site.
Arrived on what seemed to be the same page, and ......... As you can guess the computer that entered through Hilton.com showed no availability while the computer entering through the hotels own site showed availability.
I then did the same swopping the computers around and you know the answer.
I phoned the hotel again to tell them and they did the same, finding that Hilton.com showed them sold out when they were not.
They were annoyed because it meant they were losing bookings over a holiday weekend. When I arrive I will ask what happened.
My theory is that Hilton employed a software company owned by Marriots, or Hyatt or Sheraton or...................

hilton.com website is a nightmare now.
It takes forEVER to load, with all the background pictures and junk.
Then it displays the hotels in seemingly random fashion. If you choose "sort by brand" it sorts by distance.
Book a room and there is NO easy way to make a reservation at another hotel. You have to start with hilton.com again.
What a disaster.
And I have been a diamond HH for at least 15 years.
Oh, and the drop-down calendar on the homepage only works about 1/5 of the time. I end up accepting the default dates and then changing the dates when the property list screen shows. That calendar works much better.
I, too, have suffered from being trapped in single-brand hell on this website. If you pick an Embassy Suites property, you are in the ES website and it is hard (perhaps impossible) to get back to the general corporate website. I suspect that Hilton is preparing to spin off one or more of their brands and will be able to split up the booking system easily.
In the meantime, we suffer.

From Hilton regarding the multiple logins required to get to the hhonors profile:

I received the update that the reason that the system is requiring that you log in multiple times is because the initial login page and the actual page to log into are on two different platforms. There will be system enhancements done in late September which should solve that issue.

Fixing this basic and very annoying problem would be outstanding. But, I'll believe it when I see it. The multiple log-ins (for me, it can be as many as three times) are very frustrating when booking a lot of reservations in sequence, as I do every few months.

Yes, it's a lousy website. After making a reservation, clicking "book another stay" brings you to a new login page.
But there is a workaround. Use the back arrow in your browser to go back to the main page of your hhonors in your profile. It you can then again go from there to search for a hotel, and make the second reservation.
Then you have to repeat the trick for the third one.

Just received the below e-mail from HH. Hopefully the refreshed website contains some actual functional improvements and is not just a cosmetic refresh.
New Website. Same Hilton HHonors.
A new and improved HHonors.com is on its way. Managing your Hilton HHonors account and booking your next getaway is about to get easier. Over the next few weeks well be unveiling our new website, including enhanced account pages. Here are some of the changes you can expect:
New account overview section that showcases all of your most important information at-a-glance, including your tier status, personal preferences and points earned on past stays.
New interactive progress bar that displays your tier status in terms of stays, nights, or HHonors Base Points, so you can see how close you are to the next tier no matter how earn your status.
Easy access at the top of each page on HHonors.com to view your account information, track your tier status and view upcoming reservations.

Before my last stay, Hilton's website told me:

My last stay (of two nights) has now posted. Hilton's website now says:
To maintain your Gold status, you need:
1 more nights or 2 more stays ...
In reality, I need 8 more nights or 8 more stays. I have at least 12 more nights booked this year (in 2 six night stays), so I should have no problem requalifying. I am just wondering if anyone else sees a broken requalification ticker in their account status summary.
The ticker is also nonsensical in how it calculates. Assuming that I did in fact need just one more night, then obviously I would also need just one more stay, even if I had only had one prior stay (of 35 nights) during the year.

Yes! This happens to me too. This is that horizontal band that comes across at the top of the screen when you're on a brand-specific page, right? (As opposed to Hhonors.com) I was all excited when I saw I only needed 4 more stays to requalify for Gold, but I actually needed many more. I have been increasingly frustrated by Hilton website, the fact it doesnt work, it makes you log in several times, your stays are not up dated, your future stays you cant get into. I wrote to them, to get some answers, here is the answer:
Dear Mr. Tiffin,
We sincerely apologize for this. We are aware of the internet issues that we
face and are working to resolve the issues. We would also like to advise you of
the routine maintenance that takes place every Saturday evening going into
Sunday morning between the hours of 11pm - 6am Central Standard Time. The
internet as well as our hotels and reservations department does not have access
to book reservations and other features during this time. As mentioned this is
routine maintenance and is scheduled weekly at the times mentioned above. We
apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. We do appreciate your
loyalty and thank you for giving us your feedback.
Have a good day!

Okay so all seem fair enough, you do wonder why they dont tell us they will be doing work and the site will be down, but hey not the end of the world.
Then today I am on the site and pop up appears to give me feedback via a survey on the site. Now this happened to me on Saturday as well. The pop up tells you to continue on Hilton site and when you close the survey will start......guess what nothing, the survey does not start, twice this has happened. Awaiting the feedback from Hilton. All in all very embarassing for the company, a site that doesnt function correctly and a survey on a site that doesnt work that doesnt work.
Has anyone else had similar experiences?

The Hilton site is terrible. I haven't experienced the "pop up" issues, but I have experienced the "log out" issues. It seems like every time you log in and try to go to a new page the system logs you out. If you go to Hilton.com and log in and then try to go to the HHonors site you get logged out. If you do a search and try to go back to your profile you get logged out.
The information is never consistent. When I log into Hilton.com the bar at the top tells me I'm 3 stays away from renewing my Gold status. When I go into the HHonors page the number of stays is much higher.
The site has been poor for as long as I can remember.

It's not that you have been logged out when you move from one site to another, it's that your login does not float between each of their sites and they do not have a single set of web servers, but different ones for each of their brands so going from Hilton to DoubleTree is a move to a completely different server set and you are not handed over in a trusted manner. :(
Now maybe once the IT staff graduates to high school they will have a better idea of how to make things work. :)

At the first redesign roll out, they used revolving photographs of beautiful places where I will never get to stay.
Now, they are using beautiful people with which I'll never get to stay. Notice that they are all looking to the side of the screen for someone else to show up.
The Room Key pop-under is quite handy actually. Now I do not have to go to Orbitz or Expedia to see how much I am overpaying for my loyalty.

For example, $58 for two award nights at an ES in ATL. ($29/night to hotel)
Another is ES in DTW - shows $27.63 for the rate on an award night which had zero incidentals.
I also have a listing for an ES in Hot Springs which I've never visited. (Posted as a stay with $327.70 for amount spent but zero points).
I'm a fan of the design... But, come on HH - let's get the db fixed...

Have not had a single login issue since they have made changes to the website a few days ago. Try changing the web browser. Or clear the cache and cookies see if that helps. I hope I could be more helpful here ...

On the old website, I could filter the Points activity by hotel and non-hotel activities (e.g., points earned from credit cards), and point redemptions. With the new website, I only seem to be able to list "All Points" activity. Am I missing a way to filter by type of activity?

Same here for me, except that the receipt is now available--but still shows 0 points earned, doesn't show up in YTD # of stays or nights, etc.
Fixed as of this morning for me. Back to the correct 20 stays YTD and with the correct points now, too.

Sad to see that they still don't provide accurate tier status. I'm Diamond through 2014 due to "double-achieving" via stays and AMEX spend for the past 3 years. The website shows me as needing to stay 5 more stays to maintain my Diamond status for next year. Feh. Actually, it's to earn it for 2015.

I also had ca. 4―k points added today with no way of seeing what they're for. It's probably from CC spend, but it better not be for a >Ģ1.5k spend at London Tower Bridge which was reported as a missing stay after not posting after 4 weeks.

What do you guys mean you can't see where the points come from? It's plainly obvious.
Under the "My Points" header on the left side menu, click "All Points Activity".
You now see all points activity by property/point activity origin. Now! For further details click the little plus to the right side of the point activity, where it says "Expand". That's detail where the total point sum displayed is coming from.
I had a 4 night stay last week, giving me a total of 12341 points. That broke down into:
4837 base points
4836 triple your trip bonus points
2418 diamond bonus points
250 myway preference bonus points
And finally 483 AA double dip miles.

There is a small link beside the "Next Stay" title which reads "See all." I don't see any way to have the summary screen just default to more than 1, but you can go to the full list via that link.I tried that, and each time I click on "see all" it takes me to a login page. I log in, and I go back to the page that shows only one next stay. I click on "see all" and it takes me to a login page. Repeat ad nauseum.

Anyone tried to change "double dip" preferences? First of all, it's hard to find: My Account, My profile, Preferences, then there is a link in the middle of the page...then...nada.
For me, a blank box pops up and nothing loads into the box.
UPDATE: I tried again on Firefox (I also found a preferences link on the front page that helps), and the blank box filled in with the expected words. I then selected Points plus fixed miles, and the response doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence:
" Your earning style has been saved: HHonors points and fixed miles*: Earn 10 Base Points, plus an additional 5 Bonus Points per eligible US dollar spent..."
Oh, and the front page still says points plus variable miles. So I guess what I will actually get next stay is "one of the three."
You know, Hilton, there are people staying in your hotels right now who know how to test a web site before it goes live. Hang a sign at the front desk, they might help.

So I am relatively new to HHonors. My profile page changed yesterday. It no longer allows my to keep 2 addresses, which I see as a negative but more curiously, Jet Blue has disappeared from my preferred airlines. My True Blue # is still there but it says Select Travel Partner in the drop down box. Jet Blue website is still advertising HHonors affiliation. I booked a Jet Blue flight for my whole family (4 tickets) on Monday, it would be nice to double dip.

I've encountered the same problem here using both IE9 (regular mode and also with all extensions disabled) and Firefox 15: when I try to edit my "double dip" preferences, I get a pop-up box that says "This page requires a post method".
I tried again on my iPad (which uses Safari) and it worked as expected. This looks like another glitch that wasn't caught in testing. Strange; did the developer only test these pages on an iPad?

Yes, if you get those points within a single calendar year. Like airline status, Hilton status is based on activity within a year. And the 100,000 points have to be base points.

Base points can only be earned by staying at hotels. You earn 10 base points for every $ spent at Hilton Group hotels. So to get the required 100,000 base points, you must spend $10,000 by staying at hotels to get Diamond status. Alternatively, you must make 28 stays or stay 60 nights to qualify. You can't get base points from credit card spending or transferring points from airline miles.

I am still having issues too, in particular with preferences. HHonors called me after I complained on the Facebook [age. He said that Jet Blue was missing because you must have points and variable miles to select it so he said he changed it all and Jet Blue is now my preferred airline. (I had switched to Virgin Atlantic and was going to hotel hop to get lots of points and then decided to screw the inconvenience.) So I log on and there is no Jet Blue no matter what option I select.
I am contemplating complaining to Jet Blue because I would bet that they can get this fixed more efficiently than I.

"View Promotions" is the only thing that works. Once I click that, then I can at least view point history. I've went back and forth with Hilton over this, and they say they've forwarded everything to IT. I think my account is just broken at this point and it won't ever be fixed. The hotel finder for Marriott is much more powerful than Hilton's. I often have to modify my search on Hilton.com many times to find what I want.
Today I am locked out of my HH account, and I was in the middle of searching for rooms when it happened. The worst part is contacting HH about it, and getting the "we'll pass you off on someone else. you're not in a hurry, are you?" type of treatment.

Juts hoping that they wouldn't copy Hyatt.bomb that is down even more often than Hilton's website.

Go to my home page and see the stay I reported missing via fax a month ago is still not listed.
Click on the Missing Stay link to ask ...O and get a page with "This page requires a post method" and no other info. I guess they really really really want to avoid crediting me with a two day stay.
This new Hilton site is beyond FUBAR.:td:
OTOH, the CS Rep on the Hilton Line was great and of great assistance.

The CSR probably just pulled up the latest canned "we-don't-really-care" response and forgot to update the name. I think I'd prefer Mr. James to {insert name here}. At least it does relate to your message. AA is notorious for not even being relevant, in my experience.
This dept. is not capable to keep the booking system ongoing for all of us (since hours not working). How would they be able to give a qualified answer to a single client. They even canīt identify him.
Edit
Since hours I look for/want to book a hotel in London UK.
Anyone already awaken in Tysons Corner, Virginia? You guys work Sundays? No? I do.

I thought it was my browser. I've been trying to check reservations. Sometimes I get on, sometimes I don't. If all my issues have been their website, this is unacceptable. I can't believe they are letting all this business go down the drain.

So, I can't access my information, but if I want to make a reservation:
"Please add your HHonors account number on the guest informaton page."
Come on, can't they even spell? Who is running their site?

Please don't believe the CSRs are even in the same building, let alone reporting structure as the IT department. When you contact HH you will be routed to a staff of people who's primary concern is to make you go away, hopefully happy, but that's not a requirement. They generally will say whatever they think will satisfy (i.e. frustrate) you to give up trying to get a problem fixed. If you push, they might submit (or at least tell you they will) the issue to the appropriate group.
As for them working today, there is a good chance they are all battening down the hatches at home in preparation for Sandy to come ashore, so don't expect too much help from there today or the next several. Hopefully, they have another location that can fill the gap.
but when chosing a DT you will be directed to hilton.com after pushing "weiter" (as not translated in German), then "continue" on the booking site, and the following error occurs:

I forgot Sandy, please apologize. My best wishes to all who live at east coast. Let the IT people stay at home with their families. I will postpone my bookings for some days. But the matter should be solved professionally. I recently heard that a new IT officer has been appointed at Hilton. Hopefully he is going to solve the problems.

Just in case anyone from Hilton bothers to read this forum....:td:
1. Your website just cost you a reservation. Got tired of fighting with it. Couldn't log in, all it could tell me is "rooms may be available" (no idea what good that does) so I went to Marriott.com booked immediately! LOL!
2. You are really stupid enough to pay for those "survey's" of how bad your sight is? I think this was the only time I have ever responded with "1" across the board. :D
Sorry, but Sandy is only a partial excuse. What a good company does is have a backup etc that's NOT affected. For example, my company has an IT back up in Utah, where we could switch too if the world comes to an end in our home town. Since I have to travel tomorrow I can't wait on the storm to pass and everyone to come back to work.
And this happens ALL the time so it's hard to imagine a storm is the issue considering the basic "unreliability" of the system.

Agreed. In your case I would have done the same (Book an IHG hotel). But I do not need a room tomorrow. Hope Hilton reads this forum or ft.com in general. Somtimes I doubt they do.

Here's wishful thinking:
Perhaps all the timeouts and errors this weekend are a sign that Hilton is finally fixing all the glitches.
I've been trying to plan a vacation on and off all weekend and have failed miserably. Sadly, it's par for the course at HHonors.com. But I am an optimist and I hope the downtime today signals a better site tomorrow.

Hopeless.
Get rid of the constantly changing background fluff, and give me a website that WORKS.

Searched the thread, but maybe I missed it. On the new site, is there any way to see a list of hotels sorted by each category, like a listing of all Cat 1 hotels by state, a list of all Cat 2 by state, etc.? You used to be able to on the old site, but I can't find it on the new one.

Had a booking using money and points, I canceled it few weeks back but never saw the transaction reflected. I also can't remember if the points actually got back to my account.
Today, got a few things with HHonors so I called and mentioned it. Got more frustrated after the call. Basically what I heard is the transaction is in their record so they do see there is a re-deposit of the points from cancellation but just won't show in my account. The ability to show the redemption history with reward certificate ID is obviously gone but the agent kept telling me it is there, late he admitted it is partially there.
Why they decided not to reflect any transaction in member's account statement? Be sure to ask for "print out" if you have any doubt of your account.

I'm in beautiful downtown Hattiesburg, MS this weekend. I tried to book the HGI, but they were full. The HI was available, but if you have ever stayed at this property, you know why I keep checking the sticky to see if this property will disappear from the Hilton list...
SO, I booked the Fairfield. I'm not anything (but a member) in the Marriott club. Nonetheless, it took me under 2 minutes from start to finish. And I only had to log in once. :) Funny how little things are so appealing. As I went by the HGI last night, I saw that their parking lot was empty. So I went online, and saw rooms for last night AND tonight.
Congratulations, Hilton. Your website is not just frustrating the hell out of your best customers, but is now directly costing you and your franchisees money. Can you spell lawsuit? Not from me. I'm just a lowly customer that spends 50+ nights a year. But from your franchisees. Please, subpoena me. Please.
I'm so frustrated. I'm going out to buy some stock, and then vote to fire every board member.

Hmmm, been awhile since I received a post-stay confirmation. Have they stopped doing this? If not, where on the website can you confirm your subscription? Can't find it since the site re-org.

What is a "post-stay confirmation" (one of those "thank you for your recent stay"?)...and what do you mean by "subscription"? I guess I'm just not thinking clearly today.

It's the "thanks for staying," generic employee headshot, and a summary of the points/miles earned.

I usually have my earnings style set to points and points, but for the right Delta promotion, I will change it. Such was the case last week for a six-night stay at the Hampton Inn in Crystal City, Virginia.
I have a distinct recollection of considering whether to change to Points and Fixed miles or Points and Variable miles. I decided to go with variable miles because the average cost per night was more than $100. However, when my stay posted, it showed that my earnings style was for Fixed Miles.
When I made the switch, I asked for an e-mail confirmation to be sent to me. So I found the e-mail, and found that it said only that I had switched to Points and Miles, without specifying which type of Points and Miles I had switched to.
My point is that I wonder if others have a recollection of switching to variable miles dispite having fixed miles post. I wonder if there is a problem with the website. I certainly have a problem with the Hilton e-mail not specifying the exact nature of the earnings style switch.
