Hertz - Getting screwed by Hertz Frankfurt

I agreed over the phone to change my drop from Friedrichshafen to Lausanne and in two different calls was quoted a difference, with tax and location charge of 215 Euro. I returned the car and the drop fee was over 400 Euro. Lausanne says it is in Frankfurt's hands. I cannot find anyone to talk to in English in Frankfurt billing.

Any ideas on someone in the US I can talk to?

As an original Gold member, I am deeply disappointed in my European Hertz experience. I chose them so I would not have problems on my vacation and now they are the problem.

I don't know.

But if this happened to me, I would call Hertz Reservations, and expect to be told to call someone else a few times. But I would get started.

Every time I've had a problem, I've submitted a request online (there's a contact us option and it says something like "regarding a past rental"). I have always had more favorable outcomes through this (apparently OKC-based) customer service channel than by calling. I have received partial refunds where appropriate (i.e. where I reserved/paid for a specific Prestige car and was given something else), and point credit and/or $$ vouchers in other situations. Worth a shot.
