Hi,
Is there a website/blog/Google Doc/... where friendly people collect Convention Fare codes for everyone to look up?

I doubt if such a thing exists.
IF you are resourceful, you can find these codes simply by googling events in your destination. For example, here is one for Windsor & Detroit:

(In my experience, convention rates are always more than the gov't rate. Find your hotel of choice, and search for that rate! Also, government rates can be cancelled w/o penalty!

I was thinking more of airlines than of hotels. :-)
But thank you for the suggestion.
This has been debated endlessly on Flyertalk, so I don't want to get into it here, but claiming a discount that you aren't eligible for is considered fraud and is grounds for billing you for the difference or cancelling your reservation.

I could have never fathomed this. ;-)
