YYZ-ORD/IAD/EWR-NRT/HKG-SIN rtn was going for $990 a/i last week beginning mid-September and through much of the fall. That's definitely 5¢ per PQM and for 1Ks 2.5¢ per RDM. In K, of course.

Well, I would like to have a stop via HKG and SIN for the big conference in Singapore at the end of November and head back in Dec. Still trying to figure out how to make the best use of the eVIPs...

EDIT: Sorry, guys! Just noticed the layover at NRT is only 1-1.5 hrs. Better hustle through customs and security. :( This also came up on the $660 LAX-SIN post earlier this year (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/17995789-post15.html).
I'm seeing DL LAX-ATL-JFK-NRT-SIN-NRT-JFK ! LGA-ATL-LAX for $1060; 25,507 miles; 4.2cpm. September and October for 0, 1, 2, or +8 nights. I've been planning a long trip to SIN in September anyway so I'm considering this..
Note that it's NRT-JFK then LGA-ATL, but you have 3 hours so it should be fine.
0 nights = arrive 12:20am, depart 5:55am. That's a full 4 days of traveling, though. Sat 9/29 - Tues 10/2 and Sat 10/20 - Tues 10/23 are available for $1104 (4.3cpm). If you want to sit on a plane for 4 days just for 4.3cpm, you should probably get your head checked. :D

NRT is actually pretty quick when it comes to making intl-intl connections. No need to go through immigration, just go through transit security (relatively painless... if you're *G/ST E+ you should get access to the priority lane) and then go to your gate from there. You should be able to make the connection if your original flight doesn't come in late and you have no checked bags. (But if someone checked a bag on a 10-segment MR, they need their head checked)

If anyone's going to only HKG and wants to leave in August, United still has some okay fares. $1091 SFO-HNL-GUM-HKG-GUM-HNL-SFO, K, 6.6cpm, sample dates Aug. 12-Sep. 3. Everything is comp. upgradable like domestic trips except HNL-GUM.
Remember GUM-HKG is only 2x/wk.
I actually booked SFO-SEA-NRT-HKG-GUM-HNL-SFO for $1088 to visit a friend in SEA on the way. $6.9cpm, still not bad.

Hi Glasman19,
I'm new to this mileage running game and this is my first year gunning for United 1K. Do you think there will be a fare drop for travel to SIN for travel this fall? It would be a great way to knock out almost 20K PQMs. Also, are these flights to SWU upgradeable? I have someone who offered them to me and for a 20+ hour flight, I might have to take them up on it if I can use it. Thanks for your advice!

There is always opportunity for fare drops in the fall. However, it is like playing the stock market, one never knows!
Cheap international fares on UA are usually bookable in K which is not qualified for upgrade.

BOS-SIN is available for 5.1 - 5.2 CPM. I'm booked for presidents day. hopefully 2hr connect in ORD is enough in case of any incliment weather. I would use this to go to SIN DO in January but the weather has me worried.

You do immigration in GUM. You do customs in HNL. (This means that you'll have to fill out a blue slip on your arriving GUM-HNL flight and won't be able to do GE if you have it.)

Thanks for the quick response! Bummer about the GE :(
How much time do you think is sufficient for going through at GUM and HNL?

I'm not sure about ST arrivals but on *A take a right after leaving the plane and do not follow the masses to the backed up security check point. There's a transit security area that has no lines for anyone. I did it twice on my last trip and was through transit security in 3 min. I wish i took a pic of the return trip line because the line looked like it was going to take hours. There's a post somewhere in the Japan section (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/japan-509/) on FT that has better details

In March, GUM transit time took us 20 mins in middle of the night. HNL takes 45-60 mins and is a pain. Rushing and no A/C.
