Other Car Rental Programs (ie. Alamo, Enterprise) - Renting a car in NY

Just looking for any advice. I live in Manhattan (Washington Heights). Since I have hotel points, car rentals are routinely the most expensive part of my trips (especially weekend trips), and I'm looking for some ways to save. As far as I can tell, the cheapest option is Budget, which I can get down to about $75 a day with discount codes. Zipcar is ok for short trips, but once it gets over 5-6 hours renting from Budget becomes less expensive.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Priceline/Hotwire for rentals from LGA - that way you don't have to pay the surcharges for local residents you have to pay with some of the majors, and it's an easy trip to LGA from Washington Heights on the M60.
