I need to buy a ticket FRA-BKK-KTM bookingclass Q for use of my GUP.

don't do it on the TG-(or any other) website....it probably won't show the respective booking class and you might end in V or W.....
its worth using a travel agency in order to make sure you will get what you want and need, and ask the agent at the same time for availability in J-class in order that you dont lose the upgrade in the end.....

I never used them, but somebody I know at TG-FRA recommended this agent.

..and ask for availability in I-class where upgrades and awards book into. If their system doesn't show O/I/X booking classes, make them to contact TG and find it out for you.

You can see the booking class on the TG website when looking at the fare rules for your selected flight. Works every time for me anyway.

Failing that, just send an email to TG or get them to price it over the phone and check that you can use the GUP at the same time.

Maybe i was a little unclear but yes it is a travel agent i'm looking for.

I've now got a reply from one TA that says:

many thanks for your reservation inquiry.

Unfortunately, your inquiry could not be answered in a contemporary way.

Should you have furthermore interest in an offer we ask for a short feedback.

Gotta love it! My guess is the TA means either: I can't answer you in a timely manner OR I am unable to answer as I don't have current information.

Are you able to buy directly from TG over the phone?

Using the website should be OK providing you check the fare basis carefully. Of course, you'll still need to call TG to apply the GUP, so maybe just do the lot through the TG call centre.

In the past I've not been able to purchase tickets over the phone with TG unless the itinerary begins in BKK, they always push me to the local office for purchasing.

Thx, now all problems is solved in an unexpected way, i ended up buying the ticket at TG website.

I got strange/no replies from TA but finally TG website showed Q for all flights and not V/W for KTM-BKK-FRA so i bought it there.

My GUP cleared direct for BKK-KTM-BKK and waitlist for FRA-BKK-FRA but within 24 hours these 2 flights was cleared aswell.
