I'm sure I read somewhere that the MBNA Amex would still award double miles if you booked an ex-bmi (BA8xxx) or a bmi flight that still had a BD code on ba.com.

Sounds like it could be difficult to implement so:

1) Am I imagining it? If not where is it stated or has it quietly been removed?

2) Has anyone tried it? Does it work with BA8xxx flights as well as BD flights?

3) If it does work, have they taken the easy option and just enabled it for everything on ba.com?

I know double miles still work on bmi regional booked through flybmi.com as I made a booking last month. But that was to be expected.

Did you try reading the Integration FAQ's Sticky?

Ahh, that explains where I've seen it before! But I can't find this info on flybmi.com or the MBNA site so I'm wondering how accurate it is.

Perhaps they've quietly removed this benefit as they may have had problems implementing the ability to only give miles on a subset of ba.com transactions.

So is there anywhere on the official sites that states this and more importantly does it work in practice.

Amex can be pretty clever with the way transactions appear on statements, when I used to have a Platinum Charge Card it would say exactly what the routing was. Or at least I think so, its been a few years since I bothered with that rubbish.

I'm going to ask MBNA for a proportional refund on the annual fee considering most of the features are now useless.

I guess most of us will be returning the MBNA BMI fee paying card....not worth it now for me certainly.....altho' it was reasonable even with fee when BMI graced the skies.

Might ask for a Fee return proportion myself......although I can imagine their response....

Still worth it for me until they stop the Avios transfers. 2 miles/£ on Amex and 1 mile/£ on Visa can't be beaten (well on currently available cards)

Has anybody noticed a delay in the MBNA miles posting on their BMI DC account?
I think (?) they always posted on the 6th (certainly my June ones did) but as of today (10th) nothing for July (and yes I have earned some!)

Mine posted fine, although my dates are different. Give it a few more days and see.
