JetBlue TrueBlue - Getting a refund and not credit?

One of the people on my flight can't take an airplane because recently they had a head trauma and surgery. We don't know how long it's gonna be till they can fly again and it could be over a year. Is there any way that I could get a refund and not a credit?

Call the hotline and explain your situation. I've had a situation in which I had to refund a ticket (although my fare restrictions did not allow this) and after the customer rep spoke to her manager, they gave me a one time goodwill full refund of my ticket. Needless to say, I was very impressed ^ Will keep me flying jetBlue more than free TV or drinks ever will.
