Marriott Rewards (including Ritz-Carlton) - Question: Nights Credited
My last couple of trips to the Renaissance Moscow had me arriving at DME Airport at 2am on Monday morning so I had to book the hotel room Sunday (with late checkin). My bill shows that I paid for 5 nights accommodations but checkin date was the Monday morning due to the time.
I believe I should be credited with 5 nights but Marriott has only credited me with 4. Was wondering what others think?
IMO, you pd for 5 and should receive 5-nights.................. it's not like those pre-pd rooms or w res that don't show up and want stay credits when they were no shows............. you showed up BEFORE checkout time on Monday and paid for Sunday night to guarantee you had a place to crash after your late arrival.............. if you don't get credit then there's something "rotten in Denmark"!

Based on somewhat dated North American experience, the first night will not auto post since the date will be "wrong". Will require manual intervention. Have you tried the standard missing-stay process? With the receipt and a note explaining what happened (and what you paid for)?

I think this is right. There have been other threads (not related to Moscow), but to this issue - middle of night check-in/something to do w/ accounting closing out nights, etc.
socrates explained it one time, but I can't remember the details.
Cheers.
I'm going to try Missing Stay Request now. I think the issue is the checkin date being the following day. Odd thing is the prior times I have arrived the middle of the night there were no issues.

I think it depends if accounting has done the sweep already when you check in. If they haven't then it probably posts correctly. If they have, then you have the situation you've encountered. Again, I'm going from a vague memory from when the topic came up previously.
Cheers.
