Fairmont President's Club - Platinum 2-for-1 golf benefit

The way the terms read, it appears that one has to be staying at a Fairmont property to take advantage of the 2-for-1 golf benefit. Is this really the case or can one golf without having a stay?

Have some friends who booked a foursome in Banff this weekend and would like to take advantage of this platinum perq.

Does anybody know definitively or have experience with this?

By way of update and FYI, I called out to the golf course and was advised that we could use the 2-for-1 benefit. Gave them both of our Platinum numbers so we're good for a round of half price golf for our foursome. ^

Interesting. The way it is supposed to work is that at check in you ask for a paper 2-1 coupon, which you then present at the clubhouse.

Then again, a number of Fairmonts are generous with respect to Golf -- I have played at several where I paid for one round, and then let me play repeatedly thereafter without paying additional greens fees.
