I'm with LT on this one. Just searched for the same thing and came up with a RT MDW-ATL for 7/6-7/12 that didn't involve any cash payment other than 9/11 charges. ($5 RT)

What the hell are those $24 in seat fees legalTender? I dont remember having to pay anything much more than a couple of bucks a ticket for fees. And is the redemption fee really $5 a ticket?

What was FL's explanation when you called? I think that's missing from your post.

Usually one can book without choosing seats. In the case above, the OP may have chosen particular seats. Of course, I'm just guessing...

Can't offer an explanation for the rest.

If you have to cancel an award booking you have to pay a $75 change fee, but one nice thing about this mistreatment of AirTran frequent flyers is the other fees you've already paid get deducted from the $75 fee you must pay to cancel in order to get the credits back in your account.

Funny, as an AirTran A+ Elite member, I never paid a fee to change an award booking.

bamalawdawg, is it a close-in booking fee? No indication here of when you're flying.
