My apologies, but I'm not very experienced with LAN awards and LAN's web site isn't very helpful. Would the following award be permitted for 85,000 kilometers?

MIA - EZE (75,000 Premium Business)
7 days later
EZE - SCL (10,000 Economy)

Thanks!

The only way you can do this award according to LAN rules is a Oneworld award with MIA-EZE on AA and EZE-SCL on LAN at 100,000km + 20,000km =120,000km. This would allow travel in Business Class on both legs.
I think but do not know that for a Oneworld Award you pay the highest class kms for the entire trip even if you fly a lower class on one segment.(Otherwise it would be 100,000 + 10,000=110,000km for J + Y)

What you are asking is to pay half the cost of a LAN award (oneway LAN awards are not permitted by the rules) combined with a single segment Oneworld award flying LAN but a single segment flying LAN is not a Oneworld award but a LAN award and which would cost 12000km (but Oneway LAN awards are not permitted).

For booking at the cheapest cost see this post http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/17132413-post16.html

This would cost 104,000km with all travel in J ie half of a LAN J award MIA-EZE return and half of a LAN J award EZE-SCL return ie 75,000km + 29,000km

EZE - SCL (10,000 Economy)

EZE-SCL is actually 12,000 in economy with LAN. Even if the other flight were to be a oneworld flight, the amount of km required for the LAN flights is still determined by the first table, not by the oneworld distance-based table.

I don't think that you can split classes if you want to do an award like this. It's probably going to be like 3544quebec mentions in the last part of his post and cost 104,000km all in J.

Nope, I just checked at lan.com and a few flights were priced at 10K on this same route.

You are absolutely right that lan.com is pricing returns BUE-SCL at 20,000km

But the award table for LAN http://www.lan.com/es_ec/sitio_personas/lanpass/como_canjear/tabla_premios.html lists those flights at 24,000km return - not sure if there is a redemption special on at the moment or it is just another lan.com foible. But in any event it doesn't significantly change the substance of the responses to your question

There is in fact a redemption promotion for SCL-BUE ida y vuelta 20,000km at present:

In another thread in this forum, someone posted that LAN doesn't necessarily require a round-trip for awards, but each award requires at least two legs. Is that right?

Yes, for example I couldnīt get a LAX-HKG CX F award using LANPASS Kms., however I could get a LAX-HKG-TPE award.
