That would be at the discretion of US Airways' revenue management team. If they are convinced that the flights are selling without any special sales, then the Delta promotion will not be matched. perseus11 Jul 4, 12, 12:30 pm Actually as a check. BA is offering a Club fare (single traveler) of $3915 Total (incl all fees/taxes) for PHL-LHR-PHL - out 3 Aug Return 10 Aug, which includes 6 nights hotel. They also displayed several options for higher priced hotels. I do know that BA has special arrangements with many London properties - if you fly with them, that are not available elsewhere. The RT BA fare alone is $2842. US matched the fare exactly. The DL RT fare connecting through JFK is $2177 Total. Obviously US feels the DL JFK connection is not competitive and that people would prefer to pay $665 more to accumulate *A miles and fly non-stop. Currently, the US PHL-LHR flight is frequently going out oversold, so that is possibly the incentive to keep the fare at the BA level. |
