So I can buy this PE ticket for a flight CDG-AMS-CDG. One leg is operated by KLM who I believe only has Eco and Business. So with a PE ticket, where will they put me, in front or behind the curtain?

San Gottardo Jul 4, 12, 10:39 am In the front, before the curtain but seating will be 3-3. Wait a second, does that mean that KLM also has a Premium Economy section of its cabin? Last time I took them I was in Business, and the curtain separated the Business cabin from the rest. And the Business cabin had a 2-2 configuration. I am confused now... (Or maybe my question wasn't clear: this is an AF ticket in Premium Eco, but the flight is operated by KLM. Where will I sit on the KLM plane? I know that on AF it's in front in 3-3 config. It's KLM I am unsure about) JOUY31 Jul 4, 12, 10:43 am Wait a second, does that mean that KLM also has a Premium Economy section of its cabin? Thanks a lot JOUY31. Guess I'll check what the fare difference is between PE and PA (or I check the plane's loads to see how likely it is that I'll be squeezed in PE). ajs123 Jul 8, 12, 12:55 am You ll be in front of the curtain. I was booked in W, operated by KL. interestingly they started serving the boxes & drinks (without using a catering trolley) from the last row, where I sat. San Gottardo Jul 8, 12, 7:00 am I ended up buying a Premium Affaires ticket (some habits never die, but I didn't want to run the "risk" of not having sufficient lateral space). However I made another observation: weren't they going to upgrade the quality & quantity & presentation of breakfast in European Premium flights? It was still the same concept as before (although the little box of Valrhona chocolates was - watch the number of thumbs here - absolutely ^^^^). Or is Amsterdam one of those routes where they were maintaining the old number of FAs to ensure high service quality but also maintaining the old low quality of the catering? In any case, I really liked my ride on the Thalys on the way back ;) JOUY31 Jul 8, 12, 7:30 am I ended up buying a Premium Affaires ticket (some habits never die, but I didn't want to run the "risk" of not having sufficient lateral space). Err, did you end up, as mentioned in your question, flying AF or KL metal? In any case, I really liked my ride on the Thalys on the way back ;)Well, I positively hate the catering on Thalys, but that's just mon sale goût ;). How long is travel time nowadays between Amsterdam and Paris-Nord? San Gottardo Jul 8, 12, 8:27 am Sorry, I should have been more specific. In the beginning I was thinking about buying a return ticket in premium Eco, operated one way by AF the other way by KL. That was when I asked the question. Then I figured that the Thalys between Schiphol and Gare du Nord takes 3h04 minutes and that there was a train running at the times that I needed to make phone calls (and thus couldn't fly anyway) that's what I took. Thus I took the outbound on AF in Affaires, the return on Thalys and no return on KL. I did not try the Thalys food (probably as bad as Eurostar these days), my liking of the ride was based on the short and productive travel time for Schiphol-Gare du Nord. |
