Virgin America Elevate - Watch out if canceling MCS - to Travel Bank

I cancelled a MCS seat and requested that the charge just go into a travel bank (I'm planning on redeeming for VS soon and can use it for the cash surcharge).

Although there should have been no penalty, they deducted a $75 change fee. (I was able to get it recredited by calling them.) I suspect that this might not be the case if I'd have chosen to have it recredited to my credit card instead of a Travel Bank - but be careful, nonetheless.

I suspect I tripped over a bug left over from their back-end conversion.

There are refundable and non-refundable MCS fares, one of which does have a penalty for changes or cancellation.

This was not an "instant upgrade" MCS seat. It was purchased as MCS.
