I guess Platinum's don't need help on days like the 4th of July. No one really travels that day anyway, right?

I thought it was 24/7 with the Plat Premier desk keeping bankers' hours. Called Plat line at 9:30 EST and it simply said it was closed and asked me to call back another time and then the call was terminated. aaupgrade Jul 4, 12, 9:12 am Platinum reservations is 24/7. Platinum Customer Service (aka Marriott Rewards) is 8:15am - 9:00pm, Monday - Friday, US Eastern time (my guess is they are closed on Holidays). BTW, as of last November Platinum Customer Service is no longer a dedicated Platinum line. If, during normal MR business hours, you do not want to remain on hold, call Plat reservations and have them transfer you to Marriott Rewards Customer Service. Feel free to do a search for the numerous other threads on this topic should you want more info. Interestingly, for PP the Customer Service and Reservation phone numbers are the same. I wonder if anything has changed for Plat. xtremeski2001 Jul 4, 12, 9:33 am Interestingly, for PP the Customer Service and Reservation phone numbers are the same. And to quote what I posted ;) Eh, doesn't bother me. They run the Gold/Plat challenges to try & drum up bizness/convert people to stay at Marriotts in the future. If it works, they have a new loyal customer. If it doesn't, then the person will drop down/not renew or has to wait a year before doing it again. And some of the folk who sign up do so just to get the bennies at a particular property for a vacation, and don't plan on staying any other time. So it's not like it's ruining it for others on a regular basis. There's always going to be the I did it the hard way/the 'lites' are taking away my bennies/competing with me. Shrug. For every one of those there's a road warrior that doesn't sign up for the elite program at all. It all evens out, but that's just my opinion. But back to the OP's original question. Plat ressies is 24/7. Plat MR Cust Svc is Mon-Fri, excluding holidays. This is only a guess, but I'm guessing that other hotel chains cust svc are the same, along w/ airlines cust svc. Ressies 24/7. Cust svc M-F, ex holidays. Cheers. |
