ETA: A major summary is published by Ernst&Young http://www.ey.com/Publication/vwLUAssets/International-hotel-brands-in-Russia-2012/$FILE/International-hotel-brands-in-Russia-2012.pdf

Im planning a major road trip around European Russia en route from the EU to the Stans. There is plenty og info on Moscow and St Petersburg, but info on other cities is scattered if not non existent.

Im proposing to update a master list of ALL hotels in Russia belonging to the international chains for all you points freaks. Feel free to feed the thread, and as well include CIS states. I know there are Hyatts, CC hotels etc around in cities most people have never heard of, and this list can become more user friendly than browsing all the chain pages, or googling each city.

Completely updated on Hyatt, SPG, Accor, Club Carlson, Best Western, Marriott, Intercontinental/IHG
Hilton complete on Russia only. Choice seem to have no hotels in this region. Let me know if more Wyndham- or others.

Not included Ukraine and Belarus. Feel free to post or PM for such update. (ETA started to include these)

There is a Holiday Inn in Chelyabinsk. Decent property, but location is very poor, i.e. quite a long way from the city center.

Park Inn (Carlson property) in Baku, Azerbaijan. OK hotel in a great location, i.e. by the Caspian Sea. Views from the roof top bar are great!

Source? Not that I'm aware of and I'm here most all of the year. If so, do tell!

Hyatt Regency Ekaterinburg. (http://ekaterinburg.regency.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels-ekaterinburg-regency/index.jsp?null) I'll be staying there in September.

As one who stayed in a lot of Communist Party guesthouses in the Chelyabinsk/Sverdlovsk regions in the mid-1990s, I am kind of gobsmacked to see that there is a Hyatt Regency there now, and a very shiny one, too. I wonder if they still have that little list on the desk of every item that's in the room, and the dezhurnaya still has to check your room before you leave to make sure you didn't steal anything? :D

Ten points to anyone who can name at least ten things from that checklist!

Oh the memories...

1. Stakanchik
2. Glass water jug
3. "Towel"
4. Bottle Opener
5. Bed clothes (pillow cases especially seemed revered)
6. Wall radio playing that catchy song about the Moscow River at the top of every hour.
7. The John Wayne toilet paper
8. Floor/Door mat
9. TV (that's a stretch)
10. Toom.....ka

TV! You had a TV??? :D

You get extra credit for those quotation marks on "towel." More like a dishcloth if you ask me.

This has not been possible to verify. Likely based on a misunderstanding.

Rostov-na-Donu has a Radisson.

Same with this.

OP mostly complete. Update needed for PC hotels (website not working today).

Not sure if you wanted to include the proposed properties mentioned in today's Moscow Times: http://www.themoscowtimes.com/business/article/sochi-and-soccer-drive-hotel-boom/467188.html

Of course we know proposed in Russia means...nothing.

Great article. Will add hotels when they start accepting bookings- as a rule of thumb.

Great work!

St. Pete has Kempinski Hotel Moika 22, http://www.kempinski.com/en/st-petersburg/hotel-moika-22/welcome/. Pretty good hotel, stayed there in September.

Kiev, Ukraine, has Intercontinental Kiev (excellent Club!), Radisson Blu and Hyatt Regency Kiev (much better than your average Regency).

Great work!

Thanks. List may be of limited value, but is probably good for some. In addition to extensive flying I also do some wild road trips, and I as many others around here have multiple top statuses- so I often position trips around hotels. Might be helpful in such aspects, even though most people are going to a specific city, and then check for hotels.

Kiev, Ukraine, has Intercontinental Kiev (excellent Club!), Radisson Blu and Hyatt Regency Kiev (much better than your average Regency).

Started to updated these. IC Kiev is great btw, had a quick visit this summer,

There's actually a very comprehensive list prepared by E & Y.

Great contribution^ Will add link to OP. However not as userfriendly (!), as we wont know for how long the link will live, its not updated after publishing, and it includes lots of planned projects.

Guess E&Y was better paid than me:D

I've stayed in half a dozen of the hotels on this list. I also wanted to throw at the Azimut chain, which is a Russian chain I believe, but the property of theirs in Samara that I stayed at is actually a better value than any of the Western hotels. The Ibis and Renaissance is far from the city center, the Holiday Inn is in an awkward location down the hill from the center. For $99 a night at the Azimut you get a decent room on the main shopping street in the city.

Sure, and I have suggested an update of thread title. The same discussion occured when creating the airlines of Russia forum.
