Are the 14% arriving on a glider? (noise reduction...) ;)
Sorry, couldn't resist...

pilatusguy, you beat me to it. Have similar feelings at the moment.
Hey Germans. If you like ZRH airport so much (and you are welcome by the way) why don't you contact your local governement and make some noise about the noise-issue?
If your local governement keeps blocking then ZRH airport will most likely start with the "gekröpfter Nordanflug" which, as far as I know, make much more noise over your cities but you cannot do anything against it as it is over Swiss territory.

Is this for "home country" as in "nationality" or as in "country of residence"? I could easily imagine a good chunk of German passengers to be the ones living in Switzerland, and flying north to visit friends & family.
On the other hand, I always smile when I arrive from YUL at 6am and see lots of buses from Konstanz and the black forest area unloading departing pax on the curb. I thought Southern Germans were still all asleep at that time... ;)

country of residence (home address).
(in Zurich and the 1.2 million people agglo the total of non swiss passport holders was in 2011 22%. Those with german passports are about 40% of them = 9% of all residents, but still increasing ...).

I would like to know how many Germans are earning their money with working at ZRH airport and living in South Germany (Grenzgänger WT)...

I don't think that the "Germans" that you address here are the same "Germans" that actually use the airport :)
I don't care about the noise in ZRH coming from STR :)
country of residence (home address). How can they possibly know? This is not information that is forwarded to ZRH airport, is it? Could it rather be statistics on departure point of travelers?

> 1'500 interviews of passengers (statistical accuracy +/- 6%), interviews made all over ZRH airport (departing, arriving, in transit)

Doesn't matter. If the many Germans using the airport or otherwise profiting from it would do something about it (letters, emails to newspaper and politicians) the few Germans (Noise-Talibans according to our Leuenberger?) and especially the politicians might recognize a different wind.
But as long as those who use the airport keeps their mouth shut and only the few Germans complaining about the noise are active then of course the German leaders don't see a reason to change their course.
Politicians ALWAYS follows what they perceive as main opinion / main group.
