Hilton HHonors - Fourth of July Hilton low prices

I am staying last few nights in Hiltons (because of lack of power after the derecho) and discovered that they are dirt cheap around 4th of July.

Minus; at two I was/am they do closed the Executive Lounges claiming that it is standard practice twice a year (second being Xmas) to let the stuff on vacation. Plus they do give vouchers for full breakfasts, drinks, and appetizers.

BTW I am writing this from BWI Hilton and I like it very much. The other 2 nights in Baltimore Hilton watching the Orioles losing to Indians from the Swimming pool (well almost). Both are great properties that I never used before since I live here.

Tip; parking at BWI Hilton is free and if you staying at Baltimore Hilton you can park for free over weekend on the street as opposed to $40.00 valet and $28.00 yourself.

It's not just the Hilton's. I am at the Hyatt Dulles until Thurs and I got it for $71.10 a night on AAA rate.

Well it is 4th of July, when no one is traveling on business (if you are, then I don't know who you'll be seeing since everyone else is on vacation). All business hotels in major cities will have their lowest rate for the year, except for tourist attractions.

Probably seeing no one, but if the 4th falls on a Wednesday and I have to work somewhere that week, I'm not going to spend 20 hours in the air leaving tuesday night and returning wednesday afternoon to get in at midnight and work Thursday. I'd probably camp out for the day. Have done it before. As you see from the rates, it's a lot cheaper than a round trip!

In Boston, the Hilton logo for the 4th is "We charge too much".
