EL AL Matmid - email for economy plus

I just got an email from EL AL pushing their new economy plus class.

They can't even get their ads right. The picture of Times Square is reversed and all the writing and signs are backwards. Don't they have proofreaders or anyone who can read English?

And why they would waste probably a lot of money to get Israeli comedian Shlomo Bar Abba to be the presenter is beyond me. As if my decision to fly that class would be in any way influenced by his presence. Save his salary and lower the fare!

In El Al's defense, a new product deserves a new marketing campaign and McCann Erickson Israel is as much to blame for these campaigns as El Al. They (El Al) would probably be better off having a global advertising office handle their account than a regional office such as McCann Erickson Israel. But as El Al has never learned, they are supposed to be competing in a global market.
