My wife booked a multi-leg for Hong Kong to China and back.
CHINA EASTERN 06/29 from HKG to BHY - got there no problem
CHINA SOUTHERN 07/04 from NNG to HKG - HUGE problem
On arrival to BHY, she found out the 07/04 leg was canclled. She met up her parents there, and plan to fly back to HKG on the same flight. Travelocity NEVER contacted us. She logged on to the site, and her flight was changed to 07/09 - 5 days later?!? what is she suppose to do? hotel? transportation? connecting flight back to the US? what about her JOB expecting her back 7/5?
btw they are +16 hours from where I am
called 06/30 told to call back next day 9am-2pm PST, airline closed
called 07/01 told airline closed - ...? said they would rebook and call within 72 hours with flight info. said wouldn't work..she needs to be in HK by 07/04. said 48 hours.
called 07/02 (today) -realizing 48 hours+ time difference would take it past the flight.
REP said he could refund me for the trip, then we could rebook a flight for her back (costing me +$60). I asked for a manager. This guy was SMUG as crap. he did say sorry for the situation my wife was in. After that he got somewhat nasty. He says a email was sent out 06/25 that flight was changed. That's funny, no email in her box (or in spam). Our printouts before she left 06/29 says she's set to return 07/04. Her parents were informed on 06/30 that the flight was cancelled - and got rebooked to a different flight 07/04 - not 5 days laster. Guy said it was our fault for not changing the flight before we left. Said it WAS NOT TRAVELOCITY's problem she was stranded there. Said airline told them there are no flights 07/04 -which I see a ton of for sale on travelocity. He said he would ONLY refund the portion that she did not fly, and I was welcomed to pay the difference, or have her fly out 07/09 instead.
So you fly someone out, then leave her stranded for an additional 5 days?!? Because she needs to leave in 24 hours, I was forced to buy another 1-way ticket for $336 ($60 more then the original 2 legs) to ensure she can make it back. Especially after dealing with such a prick manager.
so who do we complain to?
*edit - forgot to add, we even tried contacting CHINA SOUTHERN directly. They said they COULD NOT help us because the trip was booked via CHINA EASTERN. ONLY CE, or our travel agent-travelocity could help us. Unable to contact CHINA EASTERN.
