Mid-Atlantic - ACY--current ground transport info needed

I'm flying out of ACY in about a week, and am looking for the cheapest way to get to the airport from the Boardwalk area. Unfortunately all the websites I've checked seem rather outdated and/or unreliable, so was wondering if anyone here had current information...

1. Approximately how much would a taxi cost? Would it be cheaper to arrange a car service in advance?

2. The closest train station to ACY seems to be Egg Harbor City. Are taxis readily available at this station? If so, would it be cheaper to take the NJ Transit train/bus to the station and then get a taxi from there?

3. The airport's own website mentions reserving one of the AC Jitneys to the airport, but doesn't go into much detail. Has anyone had experience with this? If so, how well did it work?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Doesn't NJ Transit provide bus service to ACY? If so, you can just go by bus from downtown Atlantic City, although an en-route transfer might be required. Find bus schedules at http://www.njtransit.com.

NJT runs a shuttle (www.sjta.com/acairport/pdf/forwebEggHarbor.pdf) from the airport to the train station in Egg Harbor, but that's too much of a hassle considering you would still have to take the Jitney once you got off the train in Atlantic City.

The Jitney shuttle option mentioned above is probably your best bet.

I have used Tropiano before, but it looks like they no longer service ACY except from the Philly suburbs

Probably so, especially considering that shuttle only runs to the airport in the morning and my flight isn't til 5PM...not interested in spending the entire day at the airport. Guess I'll give them a call. Thanks everyone for your help.
