Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Baggage allowance

I am on a 4 segment trip, one of which is with Luxair (it's an LH codeshare).

It seems the relationship between Luxair and *A is a little bit unclear - I am wondering about my luggage allowance - will I be able to get my *G extra allowance on the Luxair flight.

I am assuming that yes, as the main segment(s) of my flights no doubt do allow for the extra luggage and I recall somewhere that the most significant segment of the route counts for luggage allowance purposes (or words to that effect). Anyone had any experience with this ?

Do you connect to a Luxair flight or check in with them. If you connect then for sure there is no problem. But if they are the first carrier and you check your bags directly with them, you COULD Have a problem but that also depends where you check in. (If LH/LX does the ground handling you won't have a problem but if they do their own check in then???? Best thing to do is call whoever issued your tkt and ask them to put a note in your record LX can see

This is the return leg and unfortunately not connecting, I am checking in with LX, in Luxembourg. I called up LX and they told me Lufthansa baggage rules apply to my route - so I am hoping - everything crossed - that that covers it....

My ticket is from Orbitz - so a call there will not be of much use. It's an LO/LH route, with LX operating one leg of four.

I checked in at the "Luxair services" counter, which seems to handle a fair few airlines at Luxembourg. No problem at all - *A gold got me my extra baggage allowance with no questions asked.
However, the GA could not for some reason get her system to accept my MP number (asked me what airline the card was from...???) and that might have been a real problem had my TL status match not come through last week :cool:.

Also had access to the Luxair lounge with *G (no problem with MP here), which is not bad. Cannot remember the least time I saw smoked salmon in a business lounge...
