Dear all,
Has anyone had the experience yet to say anything about taking the busses to Lillestøm before switching to the Flytoget during rush hours? Are the buses on time on their arrival to Lillestrøm?
Sincerely,
SB
I had the "pleasure" of doing this last week. Book plenty of time is my advice! I arrived at 8 am at Oslo airport. With no waiting time, it still was closer to 9.30am before I was in Oslo. The other way (approx 4pm) it was rush hour. Despite of separate bus-lanes etc, it took closer to 2 hours to the airport in total. We had to run from the bus to the train at Lilleström so travel light :)

From downtown Oslo, doesn't it make more sense to take the Flybussen (airport bus) direct to the airport instead if going through the hassle of switching from bus to train at Lillestrøm?

It should be ok, I did it last week at around the same time and it took me 1h10 to go to the airport. For those planning to travel or coming after 9 pm, be careful as the motorway to Lillestrøm is closed and very long delays are to be expected. Took me more than one hour from lillestrøm to Oslo central station.
