Traveling in Australia in October, mostly work related but will have at least a day available for photography in Perth and Melbourne (also Sydney but have had quite a lot of time for photography there). I am interested in half or full day photography tours and prefer very small groups - even a personal tour if the price is not outrageous. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Margaret River has been suggested but is some distance from Perth. I would commit a day to that with someone who knew where to go. Also, it's my first stop so jet lag will be an issue.

Haven't done a photo tour in either but from living in Melb make sure that whatever tour you choose or if you go your own that you hit the alleyways/lanes and get some contrast between the classical buildings and the modern. I remember Melbourne photo tours being pretty popular though and they seem to be pretty well rated online

If you don't get a tour, you can easily do Perth CBD, Kings Park and Fremantle in a day. You could even hit Cottesloe Beach on the way back for a some awesome sunset shots.

-Flinders St Station with Fed square right next door
-The bridges on the Yarra has beautiful night views
-Docklands is a redeveloped area, still growing
-Rialto or Eureka tower for the birds eye shots
-Melbourne uni buildings
-Botanical Gardens and the arts centre across the street
-Any of the alleyways / lanes
-Government / Parliament house, treasury building
-Tram spotting can be good, especially if you get one of the old ones or the city circle trams in town. Also the old trams that go up and down Chapel St.
There's lots of Victorian type architecture in the CBD so just walks up and down Collins, Flinders, Bourke / Little Bourke, Swanston streets will get you come good shots. Then you've got the east side of the city with Spring street and the government buildings and next to that is the park, the MCG (100,000,+ seat cricket and football stadium) and of course that doesn't even get you of the CBDish area yet and to the beaches, markets and touristy areas in South Melb, St. Kilda, Brighton etc.
If you can get out of the city, the Dandenongs are great and about 60-90 mins east of the city

The problem I have is that photographs of my computer screen always have reflections and glare ...
Not a great shot but here's one of Flinders street station, Citygate, and office buildings from the back side on one of the Yarra bridges...bit more virtual travel of Melbourne for you!

I'd be quite happy to trade my time, fuel, etc for a few photography tips. Definitely not interested in any money.
