Qantas Frequent Flyer - Qantas increasing SCL and MNL flights (Dec-Jan only)

For those of you travelling overseas in Dec-Jan;

- Qantas will introduce a Friday flight Sydney-Santiago on most Fridays in December and January.
- Qantas will also be increasing flights Sydney-Manila. Additional flights will operate on selected Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Up to 6 flights per week in selected weeks.

Whilst a *very* modest increase, I guess it's better than flights decreasing. And perhaps it may lead to steady build up in flights next year! *wishful thinking*

I am not surprised by SCL, but MNL? Is something happening over there that I haven't heard about? (Would be surprised if there was, since my best mate has a Filipino boyfriend).

The only thing surprising about SCL is that it is seasonal and not permanent.

I have flown to MNL twice recently. On the first trip going there the flight was completely full, coming back I would put it at 2/3 full. On the second trip it was the other way around.

They seem to be getting a decent load. There seems to few mining company types flying over both in J and Y. Also a fair few other business types - perhaps checking on their contact centres. But given the increase is Dec-Jan I would expect it is mainly for expats in both countries visiting home for the holiday season.
