Hi.

I'm Fairmont Premier and have been for the last 3 years. Usually I use my certs over the phone and make the reservation at the same time but I find the service very hit and miss and the rates always seem to be higher than the fairmont's own website.

This year I want to return to SIN in November and use my 3rd night free and suite upgrade cert.

Am I able to book a basic room myself and then upgrade the reservation over the phone? Additionally, as I would like to use my 3rd night free, do I book 2 nights, 1 night gap, then another 2 nights and ask them to put the free night in the middle, and upgrade the lot?

Yes and Yes. :)

Well, on the second question, I think you may need to book that particular reservation with them over the phone, but I'm sure they can fix it for you... just don't book a non-refundable reservation just in case.

amex third night free promo is valid through the end of the year so perhaps you don't have to use the cert at all

As someone based in Oz, with a few Amex cards, is this a Fairmont Amex promotion or would one of my cards (platinum charge?) be able to be used?

The reason for wanting to book online is so that I can take advantage of the prepaid internet saver rates. Can there be booked by the phone staff if I give the promo code?

Thanks for the replies!

EDIT- Found it, looks like AMEX Selects so I could use it. The prepaid rate works out cheaper but I am considering using it for the second set of 2 nights for a total of 6 nights.

Then apply the upgrade cert for the first 5 and hope they let me keep the room. A bit cheeky I guess, does this have much of a chance at working?

Thanks for the advice everyone.

As the site was being a bit funny I decided to wait. Now the advance purchase rates don't seem to work at all but the BAR for my dates has dropped a tonne.

I put the whole 5 nights on the one booking, fully refundable and applied the certs over the phone.

I love how helpful the phone operators are when you get a good one. Ended up with a plaza view suite for 5 nights for <250AUD/night!
