Travel Technology - Yahoo! no Longer Working on Android?

I have the RAZR Droid XT910, GSM model (not with Verizon). Still running 2.3.6.

One of the pre-installed accounts was a Yahoo account. (You could set up Gmail, Yahoo, I think Hotmail, or any "regular" email. Set up the Yahoo account, no problem. All of a sudden, I stopped getting Yahoo emails. I went to the pre-installed Messaging folder, which has "Universal Inbox," "Text Messaging," "Facebook," "Twitter," "Yahoo!," and any other email you set up with the phone (except Gmail). Yahoo is no longer there.
So I went to account, and Yahoo is there on the bottom, with a weird logo and it says by the normal account name, my email address, listed properly, and under it, where normally it would list the service (Google, Twitter, Tango, Whatsapp, etc.) it say: com.motorola.blur.provider.yahoo. Clicking it gets me the following:
Sorry!
The application Accounts (process com.motorola.setup) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Trying to remove the account also does nothing.

Any suggestions?

sounds like the application has got corrupted or settings lost.

Do Motorola have a helpdesk? my phone manufacturer's helpdesk just helped me on a similar problem.

If the application was pre-installed then if a reboot has not worked a soft reset might be the next thing you could try. Basically take the SIM out, replace the battery and restart the phone. It won't connect and will eventually say No SIM or similar message - or nothing after some while - but that's not the point. Let it try to find the SIM for a period between 20 secs and usually about 2mins. Then replace the SIM and reboot. This should bring back any deleted applications that were on the build whilst keeping your contacts, SMS's etc. and other things on the phone. A soft reset is normally pretty much without peril. I believe to about 90% it should not disturb any extra apps you have added but to be sure I advise you to call helpdesk first. Pretty sure that if yahoo comes back you might have to set it up on your phone again if you were using it in "blackberry" continuous feed mode (as compared to only using the email as a website logging in from time to time). So suggest you call Moto helpdesk first if you can.

The next stronger option would be a factory reset - not to be recommended without backing up everything. It resets everything to the naked build as delivered from the factory, i.e. as you bought it. It will also definitely delete any extra apps you added to the phone and you'll have to input all your settings again. So to be avoided without speaking to the Helpdesk at Motorola or friendly competent phone seller.

I suggest you google or whatever to find Motorola's helpdesk number and ask them as next step. Hopefully it's a temporary glitsch.

I will try calling Motorola. I really don't want to do a factory reset.

As for removing SIM, didn't help. And with the RAZR, you can't remove the battery.

I have seen for some people with this problem is deleting the email, and re-adding it as an Email account instead of a Yahoo account. The phone will still recognize the email server information. You can also manually add the settings for the Yahoo account.

Which I'm currently using, but it's not nearly as good as the stock Yahoo! app that came loaded. (I know that sounds weird, but it's true.)
