Recently I flew from Singapore to Sydney. The flight was on Qantas metal, but on my ticket the flight was sold as China Eastern. I have both AA and Skymiles. My question is - where should the mileage credit go - AA or Skymiles?

Thanks!

I don't think you can claim credit from either programme.

ernestnywang - thanks for you reply. Could you elaborate a bit on your reasoning?

Cheers

AA won't give you credit because the flight wasn't marketed and operated by QF.
From aa.com:
Earn miles when flying on Qantas Airways marketed and operated flights for travel on an eligible published fare ticket. Miles are also earned on Qantas Airways codeshare flights*.

Travel on Qantas and affiliate airlines counts toward qualifying for AAdvantage elite status membership.

*Travel on codeshare flights marketed by Qantas Airways (booked under a QF flight number) and operated by Jetstar Airways only earn miles when the customer is traveling on oneworld Explorer Fare.

Delta won't give you credit because the flight, while marketed by china eastern, wasn't operated by a SkyTeam partner or Shanghai Airlines.
From delta.com:
Unless otherwise noted, mileage credit is applicable to SkyTeam-marketed flights operated by any SkyTeam member airline, but is not applicable to SkyTeam-marketed flights operated by any other airline.

. . .

Effective 01 April, 2012 - Accrual valid on flights marketed by China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines - operated by any SkyTeam Partner or Shanghai Airlines

Effective 21 June, 2011- Accrual valid on flights marketed by China Eastern - operated by Any SkyTeam Partner or Shanghai Airlines

Prior to 21 June, 2011- Accrual valid on flights marketed by China Eastern / operated by China Eastern or Delta only

Your choices to credit the miles are probably limited to QF or China Eastern.
