Hilton HHonors - Check-in as Diamond / Check-Out as Silver

I am a Diamond (Exp 3/2013) and plan a stay from March 28, 2013 to April 10, 2013. During the stay my status will drop from Diamond to Silver. Will I still enjoy free beakfast/WiFi/ExecLounge from April 1-10, since it is still the one stay I started while being Diamond at the end of March? Or will my benefits disappear over night from March 31 to April 1?

Your benefits are dictated by your status at the time of CHECK-IN. Since you will be Diamond then, you will get Diamond benefits for the entire stay (unless you check-in, check-out during the period when your status will reset. Then you get silver benefits) regardless of the change DURING the stay.

BTW, the status, in previous yrs, did not immediately reset on April 1. Unless the IT has been upgraded, it usually took a few days for the statuses to change.

Al I can say is "Mike Victor Papa". ;) (See the MVP thread.) You might sign up and see if you can get credit for Gold while you have Diamond (otherwise, you are correct, Hilton HHonors offers no "soft landing" for lost status).

As to whether they will credit bonus etc. to the booked vs the departure status, I suspect the stay will accrue according to the status you held when you checked in, but I can not verify that - it's speculation on my part at best.

I believe benefits will be at check in.

I believe bonus will be based on status when the points post.

I may be wrong on that, but it's what I believe.

I was soft-landed from Diamond down to Gold this year ;)

That said, I just did some sort of challenge (trying to find that thread now), and am now Diamond once again ^

I dropped from diamond to silver during a stay this year and was given full diamond benefits during my stay.
