CAT 1-5 Visa Anniv. Free Night Cert

Hi All,

Does anyone know whether I can allow someone else to use this cert on my behalf? For example, book it for them and let the hotel know in advance that someone else will be using it?

Thanks in advance.

Yes - you simply need to add that person to the reservation when making the booking.

Yes - you simply need to add that person to the reservation when making the booking.Note that technically, the person named on the cert is supposed to be staying there that night and should be the person checking-in.

But with that said, I don't think most hotels really enforce that too much. But just be careful as you could find a hotel that does stick to the T&Cs and expects the person named on the cert to show up.

You can just say they will be checking in before you, yadda yadda yadda.

Make sure whoever checks in has a credit card that can handle the incidentals and doesn't trash the room or smoke in it ;).

An FTer let his brother use a Cat 1-4 cert, the above happened, & then the guy got mad at Marriott when they charged him the smoking/clean-up fee when his brother's cc couldn't handle it. Me, I would have been pissed at the brother!

Cheers.
