Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Seriously considering Delta for LAX-MNL

Well, will all the recent trend of the continued devaluation of CX Miles and the program in general, after 7 years of loyalty, I am seriously considering taking my business over to Delta for my 8 annual LAX-MNL trips.
I know I'll miss the guaranteed Y booking with the lower fare possibilities and stopping over at one of the best airports in the world in HKIA.
Anybody else make the move before?

I guess the question is why you want Delta instead of CX .... and what is your travel pattern.
The recent Amex thing really piss people off, but other than decreased op up rate (which we all shouldn't expect) and more crowded lounge, what makes you to jump the ship?

If you start in MNL, DL tends to be quite a bit cheaper than CX in J. Then again, PR is cheaper than both and has the advantage of flying nonstop to LAX, though only eastbound.

There's a reason why Delta miles are named "SkyPesos" - that is if you're looking for 'value' in miles.

I would never fly PR ever again. One of the main reasons I fly CX is because at least there are two flights that will get me to HKG and back.
Travel pattern is mostly LAX-MNL...not a lot of US Domestic flights at all.
I guess I can also start looking at other asian carriers such as Korean Air but I think Delta will fit me better if I ever need US domestic flights.
As for cost, again, CX is consistently more expensive than most so I'm not sure that my loyalty to them warranted anymore.
As for miles, I mostly use my miles to upgrade from Y to J..but with premium economy in the works, I don't think its worth 40k of miles to go from Y to Y+.

The Philippines do use Peso :D
Seriously - Delta's mile value is as it says - SkyPeso. But it does not mean it treat its elite badly.
However - given Delta's intention to cut capacity in Asia (HKG-DTW has been axed already), I will not say Delta is your best choice. Keep your options open for now.
