Hello all....
I just wanted to pass on to you some links that I think would be enjoyable reading for long-time Alaska Airlines passengers... a trip down memory lane.
1981 Alaska Airlines Annual Report:
www.departedflights.com/AS81reportp2.html
1983 Alaska Airlines Annual Report:
www.departedflights.com/AS83reportp2.html
1986 Alaska Air Group Annual Report:
www.departedflights.com/AS86reportcover.html
Although there is a bunch of great stuff in them, one thing I enjoyed from the 1981 annual report:
When speaking about the new Gold and Travel mileage incentive program:
"The unique ingredient in our program is gold. Each time members reach mileage plateaus they are automatically sent a gold ingot ranging from one gram to one full troy ounce. Travelers do not have to redeem earned mileage to receive the ingots.."
Also lots of mentions of carriers like Western, Wien, Markair, Air Cal, PSA and Continental West can be found... plus a lengthy piece on Jet America in the 86 annual report.
I hope you find some enjoyable reading! Very interesting to look back at old times!
