Hyatt Gold Passport - Best Club LoungeView Full Version : Best Club Lounge cs1985 Jun 28, 12, 10:27 am Dear Community, i found no thread in this way... Your experiences about good club lounges at Hyatt?! Greetings:) CanfordCliffs Jun 28, 12, 11:31 am Ive just returned from there. 1. there are now 2 lounges, the "old one" and a new one which is adults only and much quieter and much emptier (noone seems to use it) 2. the good; comp beverages throughout the day inc beer, not restricted to a happy hour. now do eggs for brekky nice pastries and continental brekky, like the yakult like the muffins! evening meal can suffice for a dinner, bread fish (smoked) nachos and dips, v nice deserts cheesecakey yum. but we usually also have room service (poor club sandwich but nice mixed kebab meat dish selection for £29!) On another note they have refurbed their rooms on the club floor- really nice result and the improvements have tempted us away from the intercontinental (ic does have a better lounge and far superior view and brekky BUT costs £80ish and has a happy hour drinks otherwise only soft bevs during the day. LASUA1K Jun 28, 12, 12:00 pm Some dont like it but I really like Grand Cypress Orland. Great dinner offerings. Cocconu Shrimp, beef, etc. FriendlySkies Jun 28, 12, 5:08 pm The Churchill lounges are quite nice, and the staff are very friendly. My other favorites are the Grand Lounge in Kauai, Regency Club in Maui, and the Grand Lounge at the GH Hong Kong. mrdebit Jun 28, 12, 6:41 pm PH Melbourne. Mary2e Jun 28, 12, 7:27 pm Remember the good old days when Waikiki had the best club, hands down? I haven't been there in a year, and after the move, it certainly looked nicer, but it had changed. Shame. People used to stop at that hotel just to go to the club. I suspect that's no longer the case. jfhscott Jun 28, 12, 10:02 pm definitely not Regency Chicago. Late night hs a decent bar with quite fair prices. Breakky this morning had nothing warm, unless you toasted it. No eggs. No hot breakfast meat. Smoked salmon was quite good, and views are excellent. m0hamed Jun 29, 12, 12:44 am Hyatt Regency Sharm el Sheikh. The Regency Club in addition to the self serve food and alcohol, has its own pool off the balcony, and a private beach only for club guests to escape the crowded main hotel beach with a jetty from which you can snorkel. Free drinks, including coffee, are also available on the Regency Club beach. hailstorm Jun 29, 12, 5:54 pm I've heard lots of really good things about the club lounge in the Grand Hyatt Tokyo (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hyatt-gold-passport/135443-grand-hyatt-tokyo-review-master-thread-19.html) thread, though I've yet to go there myself. I suspect that's no longer the case. +1 Although it's nice to have a larger club, I really miss the old lounge. It was much better than the current setup. From my stay in January, I though it was a bit average. Definitely nothing to make it feel special. hailstorm Jun 29, 12, 10:10 pm From my stay in January, I though it was a bit average. Definitely nothing to make it feel special. Well, if I were going solely for the club lounge experience, I wouldn't go to a Hyatt. I'd go to a Ritz-Carlton. GH Kauai HR Waikiki - although the offerings are not amazing, the views, balcony area and the staff make up for it! I never saw the 'old' lounge so I can't comment on that. GH HK GH Macau (before the change) cs1985 Jun 30, 12, 5:26 am Hyatt Regency Brussels-Barsey never heard of this hyatt, and i dont find something about it... Former Hyatts - from quite some time ago - 10 years? EWRfflyer Jun 30, 12, 8:14 am Waikiki for me. The old one that is. have not been to the new one yet. I remember when the booze was free and flowed over the top. Mark is the best. Love his Mai Tais at happy hour. goAsia Jun 30, 12, 10:38 am Bali Hyatt club really impressed me. The food was very good and there were plenty of options. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or more helpful. The only drawback was the coffee. Man, that stuff was terrible, but the smoked marlin, the brie, the muesli, the omelets, and basically everything else they offered more than made up for the bad coffee....also the lattes and cappuccinos made up for the bad coffee. smilee Jul 4, 12, 6:18 pm My favorites - Grand Hong Kong - top floor views, excellent food Istanbul - great service Mainz - nice view of river & food Berlin - good food London Churchill In the US not quite the same calibre, but my favorites are generally at the resorts (glad they changed the diamond rules to include them now) Kauai Scottsdale Grand Cypress Indian Wells utpharmdoc Jul 4, 12, 8:27 pm At the GH Hong Kong right now... leaving in a few hours. GREAT property! Highly recommend the Club staff [Jake and the crew] and the property as well. Will have to come back soon! Ducatibiker Jul 5, 12, 12:40 am Former Hyatts - from quite some time ago - 10 years? Yes, Hyatt tried twice to have a hotel in Brussels. In the 70's there was a first attempt with a brand new construction Rue Royale just behind the Botanical Garden. The second attempts in the 90's was the Tagawa Hotel - rebranded Hyatt - Avenue Louise. In both cases, location were not good and it did not last long. By the way, the Brussels Barsey had no club lounge. There was also an attempt to have a Hyatt in Antwerpen in the 90's. Except for some sales meeting with the European Union offices, Hyatt's efforts in Belgium remain non existent and the brand is hardly known in the Benelux market. The Andaz Amsterdam is definitively going to be a challenge, especially outside the summer window. Amsterdam has already some nice boutique hotels, with great staff...coming from Hyatt. FD1971 Jul 5, 12, 1:03 am By the way, the Brussels Barsey had no club lounge. ^ River in Sight Jul 5, 12, 4:19 am PH Melbourne. ^ This is definitely in my top 2-3 club lounges, period - excellent, relaxing atmosphere with great food and drinks. m0hamed Jul 5, 12, 6:22 am The PH MEL lounge is exceptional for two reasons: Evelyn and Mirna. Shanye2233 Jul 5, 12, 8:00 am I did agree with the PH Melbourne but from reading the grand Hyatt in melbounre was better . Im on my way to the GH hope I made the right choice. JCary Jul 5, 12, 8:05 am Hyatt Regency Hong Kong TST. krazieman Jul 5, 12, 11:49 pm Grand Hyatt Shanghai - decent food, decent liquor selection. Although the Starwood Le Meridien down the way has a better lounge. enki Jul 6, 12, 8:59 am Bali Hyatt club really impressed me. I couldn't agree more. The staff was fantastic, and I thought that the food options were pretty good. My wife and I just returned from a trip there, and, unlike some other places, the club is one of the things that will likely draw us back. Of course, Bali itself isn't too bad either. flyer121 Jul 6, 12, 7:33 pm Grant Hyatt Melbourne Australia is Amazing. Any experiences with Park or Grand Hyatt Dubai? Any experiences with Grand Hyatt Dubai? Club lounge is pretty good - review here (http://www.driven2travel.co.uk/grand-hyatt-dubai---grand-suite-king.html) (scan down page a bit). Breakfast was a reasonble choice, although much better downstairs. Chocolates and fruit throughout the day, good evening food. No champagne but reasonable sparkling wine. Lounge attended 24H with a great team - special section for families with children - nice view on the Dubai Creek on one side - F&B could be improved as there was more choice and better wines previously. ktp28 Jul 8, 12, 10:55 am Excellent thread. Grand Hyatt NYC - the new lounge was terrific. The old one was terrible, but the new one with the outdoor patio is an excellent meeting spot. Most memorable in recent history. Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong - stunning view. Small lounge. Decent food. Grand Hyatt Singapore - there are two lounges. The one in the new tower is amazing. The one one in tha back is not as nice. Both have excellent food. The breakfast and cocktail are excellent. Grand Hyatt Guangzhou - super friendly staff. Decent food. But it's a small lounge. Nice view of Guangzhou. Grand Hyatt Bangkok - great breakfast and cocktails. Amazing staff. But the lounge itself is a bit dated. Grand Hyatt Macau - decent food, but the staff was mediocre and not very friendly. Grand Hyatt San Francisco - decent lounge for meetings, food apis acceptable Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Beverly Hills - the lounge doesn't do the property justice. Hyatt Regency Chicago - one of the worst lounges ever. They really need to invest in this property especially since this is home court for Hyatt. Honorable mentions: Park Hyatt Place Vendôme and Hyatt Regency Paris were great places to have breakfast for diamond members. Despite not having a lounge, the restaurant for breakfast and bar for cocktails were very memorable. Looking forward to staying at some of the lounges mentioned and seeing Hyatt invest in these great assets for building brand loyalty. dabaobao Jul 8, 12, 7:45 pm nice list ktp28 bluers7 Jul 10, 12, 10:54 pm Excellent thread. Grand Hyatt Macau - stay there for 2 times, food is same always, poptarts Jul 12, 12, 9:03 am The lounge was recently remodeled and it is gorgeous. The lounge is exquisitely decorated with a modern, warm, with very subtle sexy undertones. We are staying here this week and I can attest that the lounge staff is friendly and welcoming. They clearly want you to enjoy your stay and offer their assistance the minute you look their way. The lounge is portrayed as offering a continental breakfast with pastries, fruits, and beverages. Yet, there is much more than that. There is hot cereal (oatmeal), frittata with diced ham (may change daily?), assorted cheeses, along with bagels, toast and cold cereal. Oh, and the gorgeous SF view from the 32nd floor! Breathtaking! I cannot say it is THE best lounge but it is one of our favorites! OLYflyer Jul 13, 12, 3:21 am For me of those with lounges I've been to: 1 - Singapore: (new tower) found it to be quite elegant with a decent spread and perfect service 2 - Manila: great service including check-in, nice spread, enjoyable evening cocktails, nice views 3 - Casablanca: fantastic service including check-in, small but still enjoyable and calm 4 - Bali Hyatt: great atmosphere, wonderful staff and unlimited champagne/beer 5 - Santa Clara: because its not open on weekends and I get my 2500 pts 6 - Maui: Really very disappointing spread and way too crowded CanfordCliffs Jul 16, 12, 12:35 pm Hyatt Regency Sharm el Sheikh. Probably a silly question, but did you find clealiness ok here.. alot of hotels in Sharm have hygene problems, my sister has been there twice (although not at this hotel!) and got stomach upset badly both times!:( CanfordCliffs Jul 16, 12, 12:42 pm Excellent thread. We stayed at the PH Vendome and enjoyed beers in the bar (just 2) and were surprised at a bill of 30 euros! Paris seems to be incredibly pricy to drink anywhere in the centre. Although the bar was nice, it did not merrit this price. The PH Zurich offers an excellent breakfast, outstanding! and their beers are better value. We prefer the PH Zurich to Paris. PH Milan also has a nice brekky but as diamonds you only get parts of it for free as a diamond, and other parts you have to pay for but they dont tell you this til you check out!! Neither has a club lounge. PH Hamburg is the only ph with club lounge and its meant to be nice.. The hotel is beautiful but i cant comment on the lounge as we were not diamonds on this stay. we loved the hotel but found hamburg fun for 3 days but not much to do beyond this. Intercontinental park lane in London has the best lounge for our experience BUT costs around £80/night so the Hyatt churchill wins for us ;) hollyweasel Jul 16, 12, 1:16 pm 1. Hyatt Regency San Francisco - revolving lounge, night time offerings included two-three entree choices, soup, salad, amazing apps and sweets. 2. Hyatt Huntington Beach - incredible views, although the offerings are pretty standard fare. 3. Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay - amazing views of wildlife preserve, nightly offerings included shrimp and scallops, sweets are some the best. 4. Hyatt Regency Denver - Less stuffy than the grand, and great offerings every night - they got me on nightly sweets - 2 different kinds of cake/pie and petti-fores. Attentive staff and incredible views. sophiegirl Jul 17, 12, 3:01 pm IN the US and NOT. from everything I read there is no comparison... but IN the US I would have to go Gainey Ranch. the location is great (although a walk from some of the rooms) and the pastry chef is excellent. thegrailer Dec 9, 12, 1:56 pm At the PH Milan, The waitress made special note to tell me: "you are a Diamond, you can have whatever you want" That was ~ 2+ years. Nothing has changed, the charge for breakfast will not appear on your bill. If you order non-breakfast items for breakfast, there might be an additional charge. There are some people trying to maximize their stay by ordering a bottle of champagne, beer, sushi etc for breakfast... milehighj Dec 12, 12, 9:18 am My personal rankings from visits over the past 12 months: Grand Hyatt Hong Kong = 10/10 (shout out to Jake & Scott, the best in the world ^) Grand Hyatt Singapore = 9/10 (based on non-stay visits with friends as I live in this town) Hyatt The Churchill London = 8.5/10 Grand Hyatt Tokyo = 8/10 (would score higher if not overrun on weekends) Grand Hyatt Jakarta = 7.5/10 (great service, awful wines) Grand Hyatt Beijing = 7.5/10 Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur = 7/10 Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok = 7/10 Grand Hyatt New York = 7/10 Taking into account view, service, F&B spread, level of crowd/overcrowdedness. DHalltheway Dec 13, 12, 10:22 am I've heard lots of really good things about the club lounge in the Grand Hyatt Tokyo thread, though I've yet to go there myself. my 2 cents. It is similar to the same spread at the HRT, even though they have a slightly bigger spread. The GHT needs to add in something to differentiate it. Service wise the HRT is better to me because of the staff to guest ratio. m0hamed Dec 13, 12, 3:23 pm I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The Hyatt Regency Sharm el Sheikh which has a Regency Club pool adjacent to the lounge which is attended and the normal club amenities such as soft drinks, bottled water etc. served throughout the day, as well ice blocks and other treats, and a private Regency Club beach. In resorts which are full of package tourists, this is a quiet sanctuary. Rumeli Dec 13, 12, 8:57 pm In the United States: As far as views go - Hyatt Regency San Francisco. Food - HR Grand Cypress Orlando I am sure food and service quality is better in AUS or Asia. RM peter42 Dec 17, 12, 4:21 am PH Hamburg is the only ph with club lounge and its meant to be nice.. Hong Kong TST - wired internet and computer right in the Regency Club, great view 2. Osaka - home town favorite - carpeted lounge, food is the same on even and odd days, so a two-night stay means two different kinds of food, terrific staff, brief view of nightly winter/fall fireworks visible at Universal Studios Japan if you know where to look (over to the right) and what time (varies). 3. Sha Tin - good food and a good view, computers and internet on the other side of the elevators |
