Hi Guys,
First post. Hopefully its in the correct forum.
I am trying to book a flight from India-Canada. ( DEL-YYZ )
I have looked at most sites Kayak/Orbitz etc etc
I found few flights with multiple airline itinerary ( British + Air Canada )
Now I don't have a transit visa. So will the airline check me and my bag through the complete flight ( and I will get multiple boarding passes ) or I may need to go through customs and recheck in ?
Eg
British Airways 142 13th July -- 4 hrs stopover
Air Canada 863 13 July
Now I don't have a transit visa. So will the airline check me and my bag through the complete flight ( and I will get multiple boarding passes ) or I may need to go through customs and recheck in ?
If it an itinerary booked under one reservation code then they should send your bags all the way to the final destination. However, if I were you I'd be smart and learn from the mistakes others made and avoid Orbitz like a plague: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/online-travel-booking-bidding-agencies/1361283-beware-orbitz-their-horrible-customer-service.html

Thanks for the reply. Believe me i would try to avoid them as well but the price difference is around $400-500$ if i book directly with airlines or anywhere else So I was just considering this option

Where is your connection? If it's the USA, you DO need a visa for transit. You cannot connect to another flight to Canada at an airport in the USA without going through immigration and customs.
If you are connecting in other countries, be sure to check their visa rules carefully, even if you are only transiting.
Where are you planning to transit?
The US requires a transit visa for everyone (unless you are from a visa waiver country).
Where you book your ticket is completely irrelevant.

Planning to transit in UK not in US
