Can we expect more subdaily P2P vacation routes this winter?

I saw that on their homepage last night and was left scratching my head. I have no data, but clearly they must know something to justify the route. Nonetheless, a pretty interesting route nonetheless.

Wow! I didn't see it coming. Does F9 is still served to DEN?

They still fly DRO-DEN.

I think I'm more surprised that they got DRO-LAS and not COS-LAS.

Frontier Airlines is taking the unusual step of canceling its previously announced direct flights between Durango and Las Vegas before the new service even begins.

The new route — announced just two months ago — was to have debuted Oct. 4. But Denver-based Frontier said Friday that it won’t fly the new route after all and will begin offering refunds to ticketed passengers next week.Methinks F9 should have consulted with FT before announcing this. :D :D :D

I know someone impacted. I suggested they contact F9 about a routing through DIA. They booked enough ahead that prices, even without the promo F9 had out for DRO-LAS, were much better than today. Thoughts?

Update: Based on some additional e-mails, I am now not sure what I originally wrote in this post (below) is correct , so please disregard. As there was a response, I did not want to just delete. Maybe there is a way to do a strike-through on this board, but I haven't learned how.

Original post: apparently F9 is refusing to rebook pax and is issuing refunds, maybe to forestall rebooking requests.

I'll applaud this as appropriate business sense. There were O/D numbers going that route that they thought they could capture, but early bookings showed that they either misjudged their ability to capture the O/D with a non-stop or they failed to get the appropriate O/D growth they were expecting by offering new service (aka the southwest effect)

If you look at look at some of the previous analysis of Frontier's "new route maps" you see they are looking to supplement their hub routes with point to point flights where they can make money doing so.
