United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Please contact United Reservations to have your ticket reissued

Hi all, long time lurker here. I seem to be having an issue with my tickets due to the system cutover and could use some advice.

I purchased tickets for myself, my wife, my sister-in-law, and my infant son on 10 Mar. IST-IND via EWR on 4 Jul. Everything went through fine. A week or so later, they changed the EWR-IND flight to an earlier time and I was forced to change our flights through FRA and ORD. Ever since that phone call, I have seen the following message on United.com: "! A modification has been made to your itinerary. Please contact United Reservations to have your ticket reissued."

I called the next day and was told that the tickets had been reissued, but to give the system about a week. A week later, I called again and was told that it was too early and the system would automatically reissue the tickets as the flight date got closer. Yesterday, which is one week out, I called again and was told that they couldn't help me, but to call two hours later. Finally, the second call yesterday resulted in them telling me that they had reissued the tickets for everyone except my infant son--his would be reissued 24 hours prior to the flight. Of course, the website still has the same message and I have not received a confirmation email about my tickets.

Questions:
Is this an issue? Will we be able to fly without reissued tickets? We can choose seats and United.com shows our reservation.
Any suggestions on where to go/escalate from here?

Fortunately, I am able to call when there are low wait times, but everytime they try to reissue the tickets, I get put on hold for at least 20 min.

I would do one of the following. Try to get it resolved over the phone before you leave, or get to the airport 2 hours earlier than planned and have them fix it there for you (it could take 10 minutes, but you want to be safe)

Great advice. I would do the same.

Thanks. Rousing my family up extra early for an 8:20 AM flight didn't appeal to me, so I called again. It looks like it is fixed--apparently it was a problem with the TK codeshare. They fixed it by putting us on the 5:55 AM LH. Ugh.

Glad to hear that!

Glad to hear that this sounds like it's been resolved, but I'd nevertheless suggest the following in view of how problematic UA's reservation system is these days:

1. Make sure you have ticket numbers (not just reservation/confirmation numbers) for your flights. You can have a confirmation number but the ticket might not be issued or might have problems.
2. Make sure you don't just have UA confirmation number(s), but also LH confirmation number(s), which could be different. You might need to call LH to get those. If there are any other airlines you're flying on this itinerary, do the same with those.
3. In your call to LH, make sure everything looks ok from their end.
4. Keep re-checking the reservation regularly to make sure there are not schedule changes, seating changes, etc.

When you call LH make sure they have a valid flight coupon for your ticket. When UA makes changes for reservations they do not like to reissue the ticket they simply modify the coupon. This is fine for all UA segments but it creates a mess when you involve other airlines.

Get to the airport at least 3 hours before departure.
