United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - United Flights to India - Any other options apart from United/Lufthansa & Qatar Air?

I am looking for flights on united.com for Award Travel and only see United, Lufthansa and Qatar airlines as options (these are the only flights that show up). Are there any other airlines on the Star Alliance that fly to India which are not appearing on the united.com website? Do I need to call the United Award Travel Desk to get these other options?
Your help is very much appreciated.

P.S: I am travelling from DFW to BOM or PNQ

A search on www.staralliance.com will reveal that Swiss, Turkish, Thai, Singapore, and ANA go to BOM. Of course PNQ is much more limited.

None of this means that you will be able to book an award ticket on any of these flights, but worth looking at least.

Since the relationship between UA and Qatar Airlines has stopped (or will stop pretty soon), you may not be able to book any mileage tickets on Qatar.

I recently tried to book mileage tickets from RUH to BKK and when I checked online Qatar was showing as an option. When I tried to book those flights, the system was giving me error messages. I called UA and they cannot even see any of those Qatar flights in their system - so the flights showing on Qatar as available online are "ghost" flights.

try searching with the multi city option to force connection points/airlines.

You should be able to book these online by doing it as two separate one-ways. Or, you can call the phone agents back and explain these are bookable until September 15. Most agents now can figure out how to "find" them if pressed a little.

The QR flights that show online are generally real and not ghost flights. There are other threads on this if you'd like to search them out.

If I may ask, why not United from EWR to BOM? If you are going in C class, those are the former Continental flat beds which are quite nice.

*A has the biggest footprint of all the alliances at BOM - United, Lufthansa, SWISS, Thai, Singapore, Air China, ANA, Turkish, Ethiopian, South African to name a few.

At PNQ, only Lufthansa has international flights. And on a 737 only 4 days a week at that.

OZ does not serve BOM. Only KE does from ICN.

They fly to DEL, though.

If it's available, it's a good choice, but if options like LX are on the table, one would likely take that option. And LX availability to BOM/DEL is pretty decent.

Thanks all for the inputs.
I am looking for end of Dec 2012 and returning Jan 2013. I would love to go on Lufthansa, but there is no availability and hence my question on whether I can use other airlines. Also, do all the other airlines appear on the united.com Award search OR Do I need to call them and ask them to search for the same? Also, someone mentioned Continental (EWR - BOM) and I have the same problem with that as well ... Not much availability left. Will I be able to route thru Singapore? something like DFW - LAX - SIN - BOM? OR on Thai with DFW - LAX - BKK - BOM. Is that going to be 60000 miles in Business OR will that cost me more? I guess it will take me much longer over the Pacific, but as long as I can go in Business it does not matter much. Also, what are United's policies on Stopover? Can I have 1 stop over each way?

Lots of Qs ... most of which are answered in the FAQs/search. Perhaps time for a RTFM? :D
