Italy - Metro del Mare from Naples to Positano - help required!

This is going to be our third Julyholiday in Positano!
After having tried road transportation from Naples first, last year we have successfully tried the ferry services from Naples and preferred this.
Unfortunately this year the website of the joint operator, metrodelmare.net is down. I can find local operators, but of at all I can retrieve a timetable from them, it is only limited routes, not Naples-Positano.
But without the ferry times I can not select the right train schedule from Rome. And with only ferries from Naples to Sorrento and from Sorrento to Positano, how can we be certain not to be stranded in Sorrento if the boat is full?
Anyone have any better information on the schedule from Naples to Positano after lunchtime on July 7th?
We already asked our hotel, but they suggest we should book a car through them.

Ciao Marco,
gratie mille!
It does however not state anywhere that this is the 2012 schedule. Just wondering, because I found many old ones during my own search. But will try this in combination with the new train from Roma.
Thanks!

Ciao, Marco
Thanks for the good intentions,
but that tietable is no longer valid.
Metro del Mare no longer seems to exist
and currently there is no direct scheduled boat service between Napoli and Positano.
Our attempt to find an onwards connection by taking the boat to Sorrento failed (although there might be connections that can not be booked through earlier in the day) and resulted in high taxi costs.
In case any one else wants to try the best possibility seems to be connecting via Capri (although this also can not be booked together and in case of failure you are caught on a very nice but expensive island).

We are planning a trip to Positano in Oct 2012. I have been racking my brains on how to make the trip from Naples to Positano using public transportation (shuttle is about 100 euro each way).
As noted, I am told that the ferry service from Sorrento to Positano is likely a no-go. So it's Naples to Sorrento to Positano by bus. Or another option someone suggested was Naples to Salerno to Positano by bus (there's also a ferry i understand from Salerno to Positano).

Assuming your point of departure is NAP airport, you have two options:
1. From NAP hop on "CURRERI" bus to Sorrento (abt 1,5 h time) and from Sorrento SITA bus to Positano.
SITA Timetable: http://www.sitabus.it/sitabus/campania/orarioCAMPANIA/QUADROXV.pdf
2. From NAP city bus (Alibus) to Naples railway station.
Train to Salerno
From Salerno station, walk out to marina port (5 min. - just opposite -) and
catch a ferry to Positano: http://www.salernostazionemarittima.it/pages/arrivi-partenze/orari-traghetti-amalfi-e-positano.html
3. As the option n.2, substitute train with bus from NAP straight to Salerno: http://www.buonocore-group.it/tratte/collegamenti-aeroporti/143-salerno-fisciano-castel-s-giorgio-napoli-capodichino
And then follow by ferry Salerno-Positano (which also stops in Amalfi)
Choice mostly depends on your arrival time.
Enjoy the Costiera! :)
