Looking into flights and found a flight on Singapore that travels from NRT to China via Singapore and has a 53 hour layover. Don't suppose they would include overnight accommodations would they?;)

Don't suppose they would include overnight accommodations would they?;) wow this is pretty crazy. is there another flight that goes from NRT to China? If there is, then there can be no accommodations. Is this an MR? Who travels from NRT to China via Singapore? It's like flying from Boston to New York with a stopover in Atlanta. I have seen cheap deals on Emirates which fly you from SIN to DXB to BOM which is a crazy way to go from SIN to BOM. I guess the OP's itinerary is similar worldtraveller73 Jun 26, 12, 11:18 pm I'd say this is a dream come true!! Usually lots of cheap hotel options of every price range in this city. You're gonna have a great time!! lingua101 Jun 27, 12, 2:44 am I have seen cheap deals on Emirates which fly you from SIN to DXB to BOM which is a crazy way to go from SIN to BOM. Otherwise the long way would give me a few more miles. I was just surprised to see a layover in their hub of that length. I'd be willing to go that way and check it out if I could ascertain the cost getting to/from airport and find inexpensive accommodations. I would be the only one. What do all those people do with that kind of layover??? Is this the kind of thing price line does when people look for super cheap fares? AlohaDaveKennedy Jun 27, 12, 10:00 am Plenty of time to take the ferry hit the casinos and shows in Macau! I was looking for either a less expensive way to get to my destination. I assume it is either PEK or PVG. There are 2 flight of NRT - SIN SQ637 NRT 11:10 SIN 17:20 SQ12 NRT 20:50 SIN 02:55+1 Day There are 4 flights for SIN-PEK SQ800 SIN 00:55 PEK 07:05 SQ802 SIN 08:45 PEK 14:55 SQ806 SIN 16:50 PEK 23:00 SQ810 SIN 18:00 PEK 00:10+1 Day And there are 5 flights for SIN-PVG SQ826 SIN 01:15 PVG 06:35 SQ828 SIN 08:05 PVG 13:25 SQ830 SIN 10:10 PVG 15:30 SQ832 SIN 12:45 PVG 18:05 SQ836 SIN 17:25 PVG 22:45 Looking at the schedule, you do not have to do 53 hours layover in SIN. I think it is more on the seat availability rather than schedule craz Jun 27, 12, 10:50 am Plenty of time to take the ferry hit the casinos and shows in Macau! Macau  that goona be some very long boat ride. The OP is talking about NRT-SIN-china not HKG where Macau would be I guess they could fly to HKG durung their 53 hr layover craz Jun 27, 12, 10:52 am Is this an MR? Ok for me it was a MR but Ive done LAX-EWR-MSP-EWR-LAX on PMCO a few yrs ago it was $158ai natalie Jun 27, 12, 10:40 pm I'd say this is a dream come true!! Any advice on what to see in Singapore for a day? planetshakers Jun 27, 12, 11:46 pm BTW, loved Burma myself. Any advice on what to see in Singapore for a day? 1. Book a night at MBS http://www.marinabaysands.com/Singapore-Promotions/Spotlight-July2012-Exclusive/?gclid=CIbvy7Sc8LACFZEX6wodIk6EwQ 2. Visit MBS pool + surrounding area ( Esplanade / Clarke Quay / Singapore River) 3. Visit Gardens by the Bay - See the Super Trees !!! http://www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/en/home.html 4. Visit Chinatown / or Singapore Zoo 5. Shop at Orchard Road ( ION Orchard ) 6. Eat at any hawker center ( except Newton Tourist Trap ) :) Guy Betsy Jun 27, 12, 11:58 pm Thread is going completely OT. There are no flights that route from NRT to "China" - (where in China btw?) Almost every single SQ destination has daily flights and there would be few with that long of a layover. And if its anything longer than 24 hours, its considered a stopover. Otherwise it's considered a connection. Would OP care to clarify which destinations she's asking for before this thread closes? Why on earth would any airline provide assistance to a passenger who deliberately chooses to take the most convoluted route they can think of? demue Jul 2, 12, 3:00 am Forgive my directness but this a ridiculous question. Why on earth would any airline provide assistance to a passenger who deliberately chooses to take the most convoluted route they can think of? This is a MI flight to Xiamen and it may very well be the "shortest possible" connection using SQ/MI metal. How much sense the itinerary makes is not really the question I would argue. Either way though, SQ will not provide you with any accommodation for free. You could likely use the SQ Boarding pass privileges program to get a discounted room rate to explore Singapore during your "stopover" as this won't be treated as a connection. However if you got the website to give you such a routing, you might be able to wrangle something after you have booked it. No guarantees. The website has been horrible to book anything on since May last year. There is another system upgrade from July 8th when SQ migrates to Amadeus. Things might improve after this. So will be interesting to see if this fare/routing is offered after next week. |
